Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, computer engineering or a related field
- [2-5] years of experience in manufacturing testing, preferably in electronics, automotive or related field
- At least 2 years of coding in a high level language, ideally Python
- Proficiency in test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems
- Experience with automated test software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar tools)
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and methods (e.g., SPC, Six Sigma)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Experience with PCB testing, RF testing, etc
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices
What the job involves
- Design and implement automated and manual test systems for manufacturing processes
- Develop and maintain test procedures, fixtures, and equipment
- Ensure test systems comply with safety and quality standards
- Analyze test data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements
- Optimize testing processes to reduce cycle times and improve throughput
- Investigate test failures and resolve issues promptly to minimize production downtime
- Provide training and support to production staff on test equipment and processes
- Ensure test procedures align with product specifications and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain documentation for test plans, protocols, and reports
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Serve as release engineer for our firmware. Nothing gets released to production hardware in the field without your say-so
- Work closely with design engineers to develop Design for Testability (DFT) strategies
- Our team created an advanced sensing system to continuously analyze critical grid behavior
- Partner with suppliers to specify and qualify test equipment and components
- Utilizing high-precision sensor arrays and intelligence, our system identifies and preemptively mitigates faults
- Coordinate with quality and production teams to ensure alignment on testing needs
- The technology has been proven with utilities to bolster safety, enhance reliability, and reduce outages
- Work with our contract manufacturer to train them on the tests and (alongside our embedded team) debug problems in testing
Our take
Utilities struggle with old infrastructure, which can cause long outages and increase wildfire risks. Current methods to address these issues are slow and costly, making it hard for utilities to keep up with necessary upgrades and risk management.
To tackle these problems, Gridware has created an affordable, easy-to-install technology that works with existing utility systems. It provides real-time data on infrastructure and wildfire risks, helping utilities reduce outages and spot potential wildfire threats easily.
Since launching, Gridware has expanded to five states and collected over one million hours of data. To support this growth, the company recently closed a successful funding round. With this financial support, Gridware is ready to help more widely improve utility reliability and wildfire prevention.
