Company mission

To inspire lasting health changes that change lives.

Role

Who you are

  • You thrive in ambiguity and proactively advocate for whatever it is you need to succeed
  • You deeply understand and can champion our users, and design solutions that are equally thoughtful, elegant, and delightful
  • You are an expert communicator, and enjoy working closely with a diverse set of people to get things done
  • 8+ years of experience turning complex problems into engaging design solutions
  • At least 5 years of experience working within an “in-house” product team, owning the evolution of an existing product
  • Strong conceptual thinking that balances user needs, business goals, and clinical insights
  • Exceptional visual and experience design skills; expert at prototyping experiences as a communication tool
  • Experience maintaining design systems
  • Excellent communication skills that let you manage stakeholders, collaborate with partners, and articulate design decisions with ease
  • Extensive experience over the design process from concept development to launch that lets you lead highly complex projects independently
  • Experience leading small teams and mentoring other designers

Desirable

  • Experience managing other designers (this is an IC role with potential for future management)
  • Designed products or experiences for healthcare and/or behavior change
  • Motion design skills and experience
  • Collaborated with Data Scientists and/or Analysts as part of the design process

What the job involves

  • As a Staff Product Designer on our member experience product team, you’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, behavioral researchers, and data scientists to explore, design, prototype, test, and iterate on solutions that help people make lasting changes to their health
  • For this specific role, we’re looking for someone with exceptional visual design skills to lead and support our team in implementing our brand’s visual and motion expression across our product
  • Our tight-knit team of designers is obsessed with helping our users better understand how diet, activity, sleep, and stress impact their health
  • We combine learnings from behavioral psychology, data science, and user insights to create experiences that are easy to understand and implement, regardless of our user’s age, location, or tech ability
  • Leading our visual and experience design expression and implementation across our product experience; supporting other designers in visual design decisions
  • Partnering with other designers to nurture and manage our design system
  • Identifying gaps and opportunities in the member and care team experience and advocating for the problems we should be solving
  • Driving the design process through definition, ideation, concept development, validation, wireframing, prototyping, and final visual design (in quick, iterative cycles)
  • Collaborating closely within your product team (behavioral researchers, user insights, engineering, data science and product management)
  • Using user centered methodologies and tools to communicate ideas that impact the end-to-end member experience
  • Crafting designs that connect the dots between user needs, data, business goals, and clinical insight
  • Identifying opportunities to improve Omada’s processes and systems that contribute to a stronger user-centered design organization
  • Owning and tackling some of Omada’s most complex design challenges
  • Leading and mentoring other designers with the possibility for people management

Our take

Health tracking apps help people to analyze their health data and provide passive notifications and reminders based on their activities. However, these notifications are easy to ignore, and do not have any form of medical authority.

Omada Health offers various virtual health programs that cover areas such as diabetes, weight management and hypertension. As opposed to receiving notifications based on their health, Omada shares real-time health data with both patients and healthcare professionals to increase commitment levels to health tracking apps.

The startup claims that this human-interaction from healthcare professionals within a health tracking framework increases the likelihood of a positive outcome by 250%. Omada currently uses more than a billion data points recorded from 550,000 patients, aiming to use this data to broaden strategies within medical communities.
