Role
Who you are
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in data analytics, preferably within the supply chain, procurement, or energy sectors
- Technical Stack: * SQL: Proficiency in writing complex queries to extract data from relational databases
- Visualization: Expert-level skills in Power BI, Tableau, or similar
- Programming: Foundational knowledge of Python or R for data cleaning and statistical analysis
- Tools: Familiarity with ERP/Sourcing tools (e.g., Coupa, SAP) and project management software (Jira)
- Analytical Rigor: Ability to calculate complex metrics like Working Capital Impact and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Communication: Proven ability to present data-heavy findings clearly to non-technical executive stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience with Generative AI and its application in automating business workflows
- Knowledge of the energy/utilities sector, specifically regarding high-voltage equipment sourcing
- A "self-starter" mentality—the ability to identify a problem and build the analytical framework to solve it independently
What the job involves
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and intellectually curious Strategic Sourcing Data Analyst to be the intelligence engine of our Procurement Shared Services team
- In this role, you will go beyond simple reporting to provide actionable insights that drive cost savings, optimize working capital, and improve operational efficiency
- You will play a key role in our digital transformation, utilizing AI-driven tools and advanced procurement platforms to automate bid analysis and supplier performance tracking
- Strategic Reporting: Develop and maintain automated dashboards in Tableau or Power BI to track KPIs such as cost avoidance, contract cycle times, and payment term compliance
- Spend Analysis: Analyze large-scale procurement datasets (e.g., Coupa, SAP) to identify trends, leakage, and opportunities for negotiation or consolidation
- Predictive Insights: Utilize statistical modeling to forecast lead times and market price fluctuations for long-lead equipment like transformers and breakers
- Process Optimization: Partner with the "AI Task Force" to implement and refine LLM-based tools (like Gemini) for automated bid reviews and contract data extraction
- Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a liaison between the Technical Power teams and Legal, translating data into "business speak" to support high-value negotiations and EPC agreements
- Data Integrity & Governance: Oversee data accuracy within Jira and our Sourcing modules. Help design "Golden Rules" for data entry within Coupa to ensure audit-ready project tracking
- Ad-Hoc Agility: Support the Senior Analyst with rapid-turnaround analysis on fragmented or "dirty" datasets to support immediate business needs
Our take
Crusoe is tackling one of the biggest challenges facing the digital age: the enormous energy demand of data centres and AI infrastructure. As AI models grow more powerful, they require immense computing power (and therefor electricity) to train and operate. This surge in energy use has put some pressure on power grids, driven up costs, and raised environmental concerns. Crusoe is on a mission to make this process more sustainable by finding smarter, cleaner, and more efficient ways to power the data centres that drive modern computing.
The company started out by putting wasted energy to work. Originally known as Crusoe Energy, it captured natural gas that would otherwise be burned off ("flared") at remote oil sites and used it to power modular data centres. Today, Crusoe has evolved into a major player in AI infrastructure, designing and operating large-scale data centres near renewable or stranded energy sources. It's now one of a handful of "neocloud" companies (next-generation cloud providers focused on flexible, efficient computing for AI workloads). And its facilities are helping tech giants like OpenAI handle the massive computing requirements of training advanced AI models.
Recently, Crusoe has attracted some huge investor attention, tripling its valuation to over $10B and raising $1.4B in its latest funding round. It's building OpenAI's first major US data centre campus and even experimenting with bold new frontiers. In partnership with Starcloud, Crusoe plans to deploy the world's first space-based cloud computing infrastructure, powered by solar energy and orbiting the Earth by 2027. If successful, this could redefine how and where computing happens, opening up a cleaner, virtually limitless source of energy for AI's next generation.
