Who you are
- This isn’t your first rodeo. You have 2+ years of FP&A, Investment Banking, or Management Consulting experience (or 4+ for the senior level)
- You understand bottoms up financial modeling: You have experience building bottoms up financial models with forward assumption based projections
- You love to build. You like to build new models and processes, as well as improve existing ones. You’re driven by first principles and efficiency to get stuff done
- You’re resourceful. You love a challenge and always question the status quo. You are highly adaptive and enjoy getting creative to solve new problems
- You love data (a lot). You are innately curious, analyze everything, look for trends, and always forever truth-seeking. Experience writing SQL is a plus
- You care about the nitty gritty. You are detail-oriented, highly organized, understand priorities, and thrive in a fast paced environment
- You're eager to take on any project that comes your way no matter how big or how small
- You love to collaborate and coordinate. You are excited to regularly connect with leadership and other stakeholders
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Strategic Finance Analyst who’s excited to make a big impact alongside the all-star strategic finance team, tackling the most top-of-mind issues related to our pipeline efforts across both Self Serve and Sales
- Own and improve pipeline forecasting across Self Serve and Sales
- Work closely with our various marketing and sales teams to set budgets, KPI’s and understand ROI by channel
- Work closely with stakeholders across Zapier on annual planning
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and identify key drivers for budget variances with Marketing and Sales
- Consolidate financial information for our quarterly board package
- Help drive weekly / monthly / quarterly financial and operational business reviews with leadership team across multiple different departments to drive strategic decision making
- Conduct various ad hoc analysis in partnership with the data team to identify and explain trends / anomalies in the business to finance / business leadership

As people used more software services, Zapier founders saw the need to connect the actions between these softwares and save everyone some time.
Zapier is the largest integration and automation tool for businesses. Since being founded, Zapier has grown its suite of automation offerings across almost every mainstream software service. The company is one of the most successful to come out of Y Combinator, and has also been one of the pioneers of remote working.
Zapier has so far, been able to capitalise heavily on its advantage as first entrants and has had very little actual competition. Software services aren't going anywhere anytime soon and organisations are only going to need more of them. This puts Zapier in a strong place growth-wise but also opens up room for bolder companies to get in on the action. Companies like Airtable and Integromat are already preying on more niche segments of Zapier's market share.
