- Experience: You have 5+ years in product marketing or related roles, ideally in consumer subscription, edtech, or creative platforms

What the job involves
- We’re looking for an experienced, customer-obsessed Product Marketing Manager to elevate our positioning, market insights, and product experience to capture the hearts and minds of creative learners and teachers around the world
- This is a highly cross-functional role
- You’ll sit at the intersection of product, design, marketing, and community, translating insights into product recommendations and go-to-market strategies that boost adoption, engagement, and retention
- Lead go-to-market strategy: Craft compelling positioning, messaging, and offerings that will captivate learners and teachers and boost retention
- Act as a voice of the customer: Translate user research and market insights into compelling narratives that guide product development and marketing campaigns
- Develop compelling storytelling: Bring the Skillshare experience to life through clear, differentiated messaging across channels
- Drive adoption and engagement: Partner with product and growth teams to design campaigns that encourage members to discover, try, and return to Skillshare, again and again
- Perform competitive analysis: Create and share insightful analyses on key competitors. Pull out actionable insights that can be used to boost our own product and marketing efforts and better serve learners and teachers
- Enable internal teams: Build playbooks, briefs, and sales/marketing collateral that help teams communicate our value proposition in a compelling manner
- Measure and optimize: Track the performance of launches and campaigns, analyze what’s working (and what’s not), and continuously refine based on your learnings
Our take
Skillshare operates an online learning platform where members can access a range of creativity-focussed classes and courses. Targeting skills such as illustration, design, photography and video editing, the company allows individuals and teams to build and improve their skills whether for professional development or just for fun.
On the other side, Skillshare empowers professional creatives to share their skills, tips and tricks to earn money and build their communities. Top earners on the platform make upwards of $100,000 a year, as well as gaining access to a broad range of people who may be interested in their freelance services.
With more than 30,000 classes active on the platform, and over 10 million registered learners, Skillshare has proven its value and carved a strong foothold in the e-learning market. Moving forwards, it plans to continue enhancing its offering - recent additions include Badges, Class Certificates, and Learning Paths - as it further broadens its reach.
