Who you are
- Strong financial background with corresponding analytical skills, with high competence in creating presentations, driving efficient work streams independently
- Effective communication skills verbally with strengths in creating presentation materials in PowerPoint/Google slides
- Problem solving skills, with the ability to deliver increasingly complex, operational, and strategic initiatives
- The ability to simplify complex topics and communicate to relevant stakeholders
- Confidence to engage and pressure test leadership's current thinking, challenging where necessary
- The ability to self-prioritize & motivate, without continuous intervention from management
- The ability to utilize sound judgment when prioritizing a high volume of incoming requests and are comfortable with some level of ambiguity
What the job involves
- Smartly.io is currently looking for a Deputy Chief of Staff to join our growing team! Supporting the Chief Commercial Officer this role will be responsible for various aspects of their daily work
- There will be a strong emphasis on presentation materials, interactions with key collaborators, and undertaking critical analyses
- You will represent the CCO to colleagues & team members across the company and externally. Additional responsibilities will include coordinating and collaborating with the Commercial Leadership Team to execute on the agenda
- To be successful in this role you are skilled at making time, information, and decision making more effective
- You will be an extension of the CCO and partner on delegation across different commercial groups
- Organize & Coordinate: Efficiently organize and coordinate ideas, projects, people, and resources, with a specific focus on enhancing communication strategies and materials
- Communicate: Craft compelling and visually engaging communication materials, specifically slides, to effectively convey the vision, ideas, and projects to relevant stakeholders. Provide guidance on content creation, offer context, and connect dots across the Leadership Team
- Delegate & Extend: Delegate projects and tasks to appropriate individuals, providing support and ensuring accountability for results
- Manage cadence for the creation of communications materials, ensuring impactful presentations and clear communication
- Provide support for go-to-market functions, including such items as sales decks, partnership proposals, and marketing events
- Coordinate and oversee cross-functional material creation, facilitating special projects with a keen focus on action & accountability
- Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, overseeing communication projects as needed
- Coordinate communication between Leadership Team members, bridging gaps in organizational structure, and supporting cross-functional collaboration
- Serve as the CCO's communication extension, managing information flow, filtering work/requests, and facilitating internal and external stakeholder communications
- Promote Team Integration through effective communication strategies
- Track high-priority communication initiatives, KPIs, and outcomes
- Act as a thought partner and advisor, providing insights into company culture & dynamics at ground level
- Provide & integrate analysis & recommendations
- Set expectations and act as a translator for staff when necessary, ensuring clarity & alignment

Smartly.io helps advertisers automate their campaigns across the largest media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. After seeing quick success following Facebook’s 2012 IPO, the company now works with over 700 brands including eBay, Uber, Ralph Lauren, Under Armour, and TechStyle.
Its suite of tools automatically creates ads and videos from product images, handling budget allocation, audience targeting, and where and when to purchase advertising. Consequently, Smartly.io has positioned itself to play a leading role in a market where brand and performance work are converging.
Smartly.io sold a majority stake to Providence Equity Partners in 2019 in a move to further its presence in the US. The company has since gone on to make several acquisitions of its own with Viralspace.ai and Ad-Lib.io. Smartly.io's ability to adapt to evolving social media advertising trends has it well set to see continued growth.
