- Technically minded, with the ability to distill complex technology and energy markets info into digestible concepts for prospective customers
- Top-notch communication with colleagues - in person, written, and presentations
- Knowledge of Hubspot and Salesforce is a must
- A driver mentality - pushes projects and initiatives to completion while meeting deadlines
- Confident - able to engage with customers and executives without overthinking
- Knowledge of Zoom and Webflow is a plus
What the job involves
- Voltus has an immediate opening for a Growth Marketing Manager
- This role will be laser focused on end-end-end marketing strategy and execution for select territories in the US and Canada - from developing positioning and conducting win-loss and competitive analysis, to extending messaging and differentiation through email campaigns, trade shows, in-person events, webinars, and more
- This role will report to the Associate Director of Marketing
- The role will be focused on optimizing customer acquisition, helping our sales team differentiate from the competition, and increasing our overall win rate and enrolled customers
- The successful candidate will epitomize Voltus’s core values of Bright, Gritty, and Good and will have a deep desire to be successful in this role
- Partner with Sales and Energy Markets to achieve Voltus’s annual sales goals by 1) optimizing Voltus’s sales messaging and 2) executing campaigns
- Build a deep understanding of your assigned territories - the programs, competitors, industries of focus, customers, macro-trends, and etc
- Help bolster and differentiate Voltus’s programs, services, expertise, and technology through RFPs and pitches
- Support Energy Markets in the launch of select new programs to ensure smooth and impactful launches
- Analyze closed and lost deals to find areas of opportunity and improvement
- Maintain existing competitive intelligence documentation and communicate new insights to the Sales, Energy Markets, and Product teams
- Jointly own, create, and execute on a marketing calendar with Associate Director of Marketing
- Manage prospecting and upsell email marketing campaigns to meet enrollment deadlines and opportunistic campaigns based on program news, current events, and grid conditions
- Host industry and topical webinars, along with assisting with in-person events
- Project manage PR agency in submitting abstracts for speaking engagements
- Execute presence at trade shows
- Manage region-specific industry association relationships to extract the most value
- Measure and report on marketing campaign effectiveness
- Keep marketing collateral up to date and develop new assets as needed
Our take
The push towards green energy, combined with a sharp pivot away from traditional energy sources like natural gas, has accelerated the development and commercialisation of new electrical supply solutions. One such solution is the leveraging of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs): small-scale supply or demand resources that can be hooked up to the electric grid to help meet (or ease) demand.
Voltus helps broker this connection between DERs and the grid, allowing commercial owners of DERs to connect them to all the wholesale electricity markets in Canada and the US, and thereby gain and manage a potentially substantial additional income stream.
Voltus doesn’t manage as much load as competitors in the space like Enel X and CPower, but with its 2021 SPAC funding, it’s aggressively driving to capture more of what’s quickly becoming a hefty market opportunity. Behind-the-meter loads like water heaters and AC, and energy sources like microgrids and EV chargers, are increasingly sought after by businesses and land owners, and Voltus is benefitting from partnerships with large businesses such as Madison Square Garden Arena and Western Grain Marketing.
