Who you are
- Student of Mechanical Engineering or a comparable course of study, with residence in Berlin
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive get-stuff-done attitude
- First principles thinking when diagnosing problems and applying research to a commercial setting
- Passion for impactful projects and for revolutionising the healthcare market with us
- Preferred: experience in a lab-like setting: designing, measuring and troubleshooting complex technical solutions
What the job involves
- DeepSpin is a HealthTech startup pursuing the mission to make Magnetic Resonance Imaging universally accessible. Today 7 out of 10 people globally do not have access to this life-saving imaging modality. Through our cutting-edge technology we are going to change that.
- Backed by globally leading VCs, we are now expanding our world-class team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team motivated to bring a life-saving technology to the billions of people that currently cannot afford it
- Responsible for hardware design
- Participate in the assembly and construction of components for our MRI prototype
- Collaborate with team members to ensure components meet design specifications
- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with custom-built components and systems
- Work closely with engineers to identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions
- Assist in the procurement and sourcing of components for our MRI system
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors

Even in the most developed countries, access to MRI imaging is extremely limited, and often very expensive. DeepSpin is working to make MRI imaging more accessible for patients around the world.
DeepSpin is an Entrepreneur First-backed company that is developing next-generation, AI-powered MRI machines that can be manufactured at scale. These systems are smaller, lighter and cheaper to produce than existing MRI machines, making them far easier to deploy, even in remote or less developed areas. These simple machines are paired with sophisticated AI, which cuts costs and reduces the need for specialist operators and shielding facilities. As such, DeepSpin offers a viable and scalable alternative to traditional MRI hardware.
DeepSpin's simulations have drawn considerable interest, and its prototype models are highly anticipated. The cost-effectiveness and simplicity of its systems are set to disrupt the MRI hardware market considerably, and the company could well see hyper-growth in the coming years.
