Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of clean, maintainable, and high-performance code, with special emphasis on REST API development, content management systems, and lightweight middleware for React-based web applications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years experience delivering secure, scalable web applications
- 3+ years experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Node or Deno (Javascript); PHP or React experience
- 2+ Experience working on production level either web/API apps
- 2+ years experience with modern build tooling such as Webpack and Babel
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production web services at scale, especially using asynchronous patterns
- Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL technologies (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, etc.)
- Experience managing code with containers, specifically Docker
- Experience with cloud engineering on AWS (ECS/Fargate, CloudFront, Lambda, Redshift, queuing)
- Comfortable working on an agile, collaborative team using the usual suite of productivity tools (Jira, GitHub, Slack, GDrive, etc.)
- Experience in unit and integration testing
- Healthcare experience and/or solutioning in a secure environment
- Excellent debugging and optimization skills,
- Experience in unit/integration testing
- Microservice experience
- Interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies
What the job involves
- Deliver new features and build new applications for the SafeRide platform
- Contribute to high-quality code utilizing best practices (RESTful API patterns, SOLID, event-driven WebSocket service patterns, etc.)
- Work directly with the engineering, product, and quality assurance teams in an agile environment to add real value to our internal and client solutions
- Innovate in a complex environment to bring real change to our industry while upholding security and regulatory requirements
Our take
Access to non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) is a key component of the patient experience, with poor transport options responsible for people not being able to receive life-sustaining services. SafeRide Health is focussed on improving NEMT through digitization - with a network of connected transport operators and the technology for health providers to optimise NEMT for clients.
SafeRide's platform is highly customizable by design so it can meet the needs of any Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plan or benefits structure. Through the company's technology, users can book a ride in minutes across a variety of channels, and it also provides analysis to support continuous, data-driven improvements.
Having raised significant funding in 2023, the company is embarking on a period of scaling and growth. It will also invest in AI and other self-service tools to improve the member experience, as it expands its national network to serve more of the millions of people who need access to NEMT in the US.
