Senior Backend Engineer, CrowdStrike

• A degree in Computer Science or comparable experience in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
• Professional experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, C++, Java, and/or a willingness to learn and use Golang
• Comfort and experience working within the constraints of existing software applications and architectures
• The ability to scale backend systems, i.e. sharding, partitioning, scaling horizontally
• Practical experience building web services and data pipelines at scale, and building services within a microservices architecture
• Demonstrated experience with distributed systems and scalability challenges as well as multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies
• Team player with strong communication and documentation skills – we embrace collaborating as a team and sharing information to benefit the whole
• A thorough understanding of engineering best practices such as appropriate testing paradigms, effective peer code reviews, and resilient architecture
• The ability to thrive in a test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment
• The skills to meet your commitments on time and produce high quality software that is fully tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration

Desirable

• You’ll be joining the Policy team in the Platform product group working on sensor configuration that drives much of our product line. We are both a product and internal service team, building features that are customer-facing as well as platforms and frameworks for internal engineering partner teams
• Partner with other senior and above level engineers to lead and work on backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products
• Leverage and build cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence at a global scale
• Brainstorm, define, scope, and build products and frameworks collaboratively with Cloud, Test, Frontend, and Sensor engineers, product managers, and designers across multiple teams
• Always be learning, raising the technical knowledge of the team, and considering the new technologies while balancing what’s most pragmatic
• Humbly mentor other developers on web, backend, data storage technologies, and CrowdStrike policy systems
• Consistently re-evaluate our product to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance, testing, and stability
• Be an energetic “self-starter” with the ability to take ownership and be accountable for deliverables and operational improvements
