Role
Who you are
- You have 8+ years of relevant learning and development experience. However, depth of skill and role-related competence will be prioritized over years of experience
- You have proven experience setting learning strategy and designing and developing learning experiences for various audiences and formats
- You bring experience building from scratch, improving and scaling existing programs, as well as driving continuous program and process improvements
- You have a proven track record influencing stakeholders across distinct functions, up through influencing Directors/VPs
- You have led cross functional projects in a matrixed environment. Able to determine where to maintain consistency versus where to allow for nuance based on location or specialization
- You consistently leverage qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions and process improvements
- You are experienced in determining and using metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of talent/learning programs
- You bring proven experience developing effective learning approaches across modalities for a distributed workforce (in-person, virtual, hybrid, and e-learning)
What the job involves
- The Senior Learning and Development Manager on the Growth & Development (G&D) team will support the design and delivery of a scalable learning strategy focused on driving business results through the growth and development of people
- In this role you’ll have the ability to build from scratch, improve and scale, influence at the executive level, and partner in fostering a culture of continuous growth and development
- This role reports into the Director of Growth & Development
- Define, deliver, and manage a learning strategy that aligns with our Stitch Fix OS (Vision & Values), competencies, and strategic business goals
- Take a data-driven approach towards needs analysis to identify performance gaps and determine appropriate learning experiences to build capability at scale
- Collaborate across People & Culture (P&C), G&D, Functional Leaders, and our Executive Leadership Team to align learning initiatives with our strategic goals and initiatives
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to deliver and maintain high-quality learning programs
- Leverage design thinking, learning experience design principles, and adult learning theory to design and deliver meaningful and measurable learning programs
- Lead change management efforts related to learning strategy implementation, ensuring successful adoption and integration of new programs
- Establish program evaluation and measurement strategies to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and provide regular updates to senior leadership
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in learning and talent development, integrating innovative approaches as appropriate
Our take
Shopping online for clothes is not always a fun experience. Finding clothes you like is only half the battle. Sizing guides and return policies seem to have been designed to be challenging to understand, and can also vary wildly from company to company.
Stitchfix sets out to change this by making online clothes shopping personalized and hassle-free. Customers take a survey on their personal tastes, and pay a one-off fee for a stylist, to receive a box of 5 personalized items. Then, they simply pay for any items they keep, or return what they don't want free of charge.
Stitchfix's unique blend of technology and human touch allows the company to deliver its personalized experience at scale. Unfortunately, this once exciting brand has been hit hard by economic trends, cutting back staff and shutting down UK operations entirely. Only time will tell if it can bounce back and find success again in the future.
