What the job involves
- This role sits on our Financial Services Account Management team where clients include Fortune 1000 firms and leading asset managers, hedge funds, and investment banks
- Account Managers at AlphaSense own long-term outcomes for a named book of high-value Financial Services customers
- They are the primary commercial and relationship owner, responsible for renewals, customer health, adoption, and expansion
- They ensure AlphaSense is embedded in daily workflows and delivers measurable business impact
- Operating as a trusted advisor, Account Managers engage stakeholders from daily users to senior executives and partner closely with Account Executives on expansion opportunities, while retaining full accountability for retention and renewals
- This is a high-growth, high-velocity role in a fast-paced, pressurized environment
- Success requires strong business judgment, comfort with ambiguity, clear ownership of outcomes, and the ability to prioritize and move quickly while staying accountable
- Customer Ownership & Retention
- Own renewals end-to-end, including strategy, forecasting, timing, and execution
- Identify risk early and drive mitigation plans decisively with internal partners
- Maintain accurate forecasts, disciplined account plans, and clear next steps
- Growth & Expansion
- Identify and drive expansion opportunities by building conviction around value and outcomes
- Partner with Account Executives to execute upsell motions within existing clients
- Increase adoption by aligning AlphaSense to real client workflows and priorities
- Value Delivery & Executive Engagement
- Ensure AlphaSense delivers sustained value throughout the customer lifecycle
- Lead focused, outcome-driven executive conversations and business reviews
- Build multi-threaded relationships across users, decision-makers, and sponsors
- Internal Collaboration & Execution
- Move quickly and stay aligned across Sales, Customer Success, Product, RevOps, and Support
- Maintain a high bar for CRM hygiene, forecasting accuracy, and follow-through
- Prioritize relentlessly across a demanding book of business
Our take
Manual research can be a serious pain: financial analysts spend hours every week searching through PDFs one keyword at a time, just to find a single usable insight. To remedy this, AlphaSense has built a smart search engine that slashes research time for analysts, using thousands of sources and a semantic indexing layer that can effectively query finance-specific language.
As a disruptor and market leader in this field, AlphaSense has few direct competitors, being most closely compared to Wolfram Alpha or LexisNexis. It helps that its tools are undoubtedly effective and valued by knowledge professionals: the company counts about 85% of the S&P 100 as customers and is trusted by J.P.Morgan, Microsoft, Credit Suisse and Google, among other major enterprises.
Having raised a large amount of funding over 2022 and 2023, AlphaSense has moved quickly to double down on its expansion in European markets, opening an office in Berlin to support this. With 2024 seeing investment from Singaporean EDBI, it has now set its sights on the Asia-Pacific region. As business intelligence will remain key for enterprises as they compete for market share, AlphaSense is well-placed for additional future growth.
