Who you are

  • The ideal candidate will have an eager appetite to be a key player in a high performing, fast paced growth opportunity
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in marketing; preferred experience either directly or indirectly supporting financial services (investment banking, securities or broker dealer)
  • Bachelor's degree in English/Classics, Marketing, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Financial services experience preferred
  • Proven track record in brand management, digital marketing, content creation, and campaign execution
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with a deep understanding of digital marketing metrics and tools
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Ideally a strong understanding or eagerness to have a strong understanding of the capital markets, including the needs of institutional investors and active traders

What the job involves

  • Responsible for executing comprehensive marketing strategies that elevate Clear Street’s brand, drive growth and expand our presence
  • Must bring a deep understanding of brand management, digital marketing and content creation, with the ability to contribute to team building while also being hands-on in executing key initiatives
  • Execute on our global brand strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and positioning of the firm with focus on areas of competitive differentiation. Target key audiences for firmwide growth across focus markets and channels
  • Organize and analyze data to inform new marketing campaigns across all channels from paid digital to blogs and podcasts to live events
  • Create compelling visual and written content, including video production, to effectively communicate Clear Street’s value proposition
  • Execute the creative direction for all marketing materials, ensuring alignment with brand standards and business objectives
  • Work with the Associate Director and the CMO to write and execute a robust content marketing strategy that includes thought leadership, white papers, case studies, and industry insights tailored to key audiences (platforms, advisors, and end clients)
  • Potentially will assume management of bespoke media creation strategy including short form video and podcasting
  • Support the analysis of integrated marketing campaigns (for both thematic areas of focus, and specific products), coordinating across functions to ensure seamless delivery and consistent messaging
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to produce high-quality, relevant content that supports business objectives
  • Support and execute the digital marketing strategy, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize digital channels (website, email, SEO/SEM, etc.)
  • Grow to oversee paid media efforts, including programmatic advertising, social media advertising, and other digital marketing campaigns, ensuring ROI and alignment with business goals
  • Enhance Clear Street’s digital footprint, with a particular focus on growing presence and engagement in the institutional asset management addressable market
  • Develop robust analytics to understand reach, efficacy, and performance of marketing and content strategy
  • Oversee the global social media strategy, ensuring effective engagement and communication across all relevant platforms
  • Manage the creation of content for social channels, including the development of a content calendar that supports brand initiatives and drives audience engagement
  • Launch and manage a comprehensive LinkedIn campaign for executive bench to support brand strategy and marketing campaigns
  • Ensure all social media efforts align with broader communications and public relations strategies
  • Oversee targeted marketing strategies to increase Clear Street’s visibility and engagement in key channels of focus, including global wealth
  • Collaborate with dedicated channel coverage to create marketing materials and campaigns that resonate with asset managers, family offices and active traders
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation within key channels
  • Collaborate and be a key part of our global marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Seek to outperform objectives, and support the professional growth of all team members
  • Work closely with Corporate Communications leadership to ensure alignment across earned and owned channels
  • Work closely with the CMO align marketing efforts with business goals, providing regular updates and insights on marketing performance

Our take

Clear Street is building up-to-date, cloud native infrastructure for capital markets, bringing clients faster and easier access to things like reporting, clearing, custody, and execution.

It’s been quite a rise to prominence for the New York based startup, which surpassed a billion dollar valuation in 2022 despite only launching in 2018. However, given the previous industry experience of its founders, Clear Street's success should come as no surprise. The trio built the platform as a remedy to their own pain points, missed opportunities, and lack of access to key data in the prime brokerage space.

With its Unicorn status secured and its list of clients growing, Clear Street is now gearing up for a period of rapid expansion, both geographically and across the financial services industry. Securing funding in 2023 from Prysm Capital, the company has money to play with as it continues to pursue better infrastructure for capital markets.
