- You are a seasoned Finance leader with a passion for innovation and growth

- 15+ years in Finance, with at least 10 years in leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, modeling, and analysis, particularly in DTC ecommerce and SaaS
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and influence across all levels
- Skilled in financial analysis, detail-oriented, and proficient in building and using complicated data sources, financial modeling, data analytics, and multi-year projections
- Experience with ERP and/or planning tool deployments preferred
- Elite financial acumen combined with high analytical horsepower
- Results-oriented with a strong work ethic. Must be tenacious, with the emotional intelligence to know when to push harder and when to look for alternative approaches

What the job involves
- As a Senior Director, Finance, reporting to the CFO, you will be at the helm of Mixbook’s financial strategy, steering our growth to continue being both sustainable and profitable
- This isn't just about overseeing finances
- Through a team of accounting and finance direct reports, you’ll be a transformative leader, modernizing our financial operations while being a strategic partner who influences key decisions and drives value across the entire organization
- You will play a critical role in challenging conventional thinking, raising untapped questions, and positioning Mixbook as a leader in creativity and connection
- Financial Strategy & Leadership: Work closely with the CFO and business partners to develop and execute financial strategies that align with Mixbook’s growth and objectives
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop high-performing teams, including finance and accounting teams based in the US and Moldova, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration while ensuring the team is equipped to meet our business needs
- Financial Foresight: Drive long-term planning, budgeting, and financial analysis including robust forecasting, scenario planning, and modeling to guide Mixbook’s growth and strategic decisions
- Accounting Oversight: Partner with the Controller to ensure a timely and efficient close process aligned with GAAP
- Financial Oversight: Proactively manage cash flow, capital allocation, and working capital to support our continued profitable growth and financial stability while ensuring precise reporting and forecasting
- Business Partnering: Guide financial decisions related to product and marketing investments, pricing strategies, and go-to-market execution through collaboration with the executive team and key stakeholders
- Champion Systems & Processes: Responsible for enhancing and scaling the systems, processes, and internal controls to ensure financial discipline and the integrity of data
- Support Investor Relations: Prepare Board and Investor presentations and present key financial models, forecasts, and performance metrics to the Executive Team
- First 3 Months: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, understand Mixbook’s financial and operational landscape, and begin optimizing financial processes and reporting
- First 6 Months: Evolve financial models and forecasting tools that improve decision-making and support strategic initiatives. Assess and develop the finance team structure
- First 12 Months: Drive measurable improvements in financial performance and operational efficiency, positioning Mixbook for continued growth
Our take
Since 2006, Mixbook has been offering customers the ability to create photo-customized products online. They offer the familiar array of cards, photobooks, and prints, but what is unique is that they have been one of the most persistently high-ranking companies for this service over recent years.
The market is a fairly crowded one, with long-standing competitors like Shutterfly being joined by startups like Popsa and Sokbook. But it remains a lucrative one: reports suggest that the rise of digital photography is accompanied by a greater value being placed on creating physical records of these images. Whilst Mixbook is sticking to a fairly traditional selection of products, the company is enriching its offerings through celebrity collaborations, and drilling deeper into event-specific categories like birth announcements and wedding photography.
This steadfast approach to more traditional products has likely protected Mixbook from any fluctuations in the way images are stored and shared online. This will put the company in good stead to take a dependable slice of the growing personalized gifts market, which is expected to approach $40 billion by 2027.
