Who you are
- 8–10 years in sales operations, sales management, or related roles
- 2–5 years of management experience
- Experience in the SaaS industry
- Expertise in Salesforce (from data model design to reporting and analytics)
- Proficiency in Clari, SalesLoft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, MS Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Analytical mindset with a focus on reporting and actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, especially with senior leadership
- Strong understanding of overall business operations

What the job involves
- The Vice President of Sales Operations is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across the sales organization
- This individual will lead the development and implementation of processes, tools, and metrics that enhance sales performance and productivity
- The role supports a global sales team and involves close collaboration with sales leadership, Marketing and Customer Success to ensure GTM alignment with business objectives
- Develop and implement sales operations strategies to deliver on company growth goals
- Lead annual sales planning including sales strategy, territory and goal development, sales compensation modeling, forecasting and budgeting
- Scale the Sales Ops department by fostering strong internal relationships and driving positive change
- Support sales teams in onboarding, territory planning, and business processes
- Partner with Enablement to ensure teams have the tools and training needed for success
- Ensure the GTM tech stack (Salesforce, Clari, Salesloft, etc.) is optimized to streamline processes, improve data quality and deliver insights
- Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Success and the Business Operation teams to maintain and enhance CRM and related applications
- Utilize AI tools to automate processes and increase sales efficiency
- Deliver accurate, actionable sales performance insights through dashboards and reports
- Create monthly, quarterly, and board-level metrics and presentation decks
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in the sales process
- Institutionalize systems and processes for continuous improvement
- Drive discipline and accuracy in forecasting and funnel management
- Work with pricing, legal, and sales leadership to manage and automate contractual processes
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in
- Align GTM systems and processes across the business
Our take
Poppulo delivers the world’s first communications experience platform, Poppulo Harmony, that unites multiple communications channels in one content creation and publishing experience. Through the Harmony platform, businesses can improve both internal and external communications, improving employee engagement and the customer experience.
Poppulo was first launched as an email marketing solution, but it underwent a dramatic rebranding in order to focus on internal communications. This move proved successful, with the company going on to serve thousands of businesses including Santander, Rolls-Royce and Asos. In 2021, a merger with Four Winds saw Poppulo valued at around $1 billion, establishing it as a major player in the communications market.
It was in 2022 that Poppulo released the Harmony platform, adding customer communication capabilities to its employee engagement toolkit, and becoming a one-stop-shop for all its clients' communication needs. Having already secured a significant foothold, the company has been focused on furthering its international expansion while building out its executive team. A round of layoffs in 2023 is certainly not good news, but it does appear to be a result of the wider economic situation rather than anything else.
