Role
Who you are
- This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, experiment, and grow into a future AE role
- You are a BDR, Sales Executive, Recruiter, Sourcer or in an equivalent role, with a track record of achieving monthly targets
- You communicate clearly and write crisp, compelling outreach free of buzzwords
- You’re curious, coachable, and excited to experiment with messaging, tools, and tactics
- You have high attention to detail, especially in CRM documentation and lead follow-ups
- You enjoy creating structure from ambiguity and want to build something from the ground up
- You want to grow into an AE role and are hungry to learn from top performers at a company that believes in internal mobility
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable using LinkedIn, HubSpot/Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and modern prospecting tools (or quick to learn)
- Prior experience in a customer-facing or high-volume outreach role is a plus, but not required
- Required: Fluency in English
- Bonus: German, Dutch or French
What the job involves
- As a founding member of our EMEA BDR team, you’ll play an important role in building Ashby’s outbound pipeline in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA)
- You’ll evangelize our solution in the market, focus on outbound prospecting and new business account development
- You’ll partner closely with and learn from senior AEs to drive pipeline generation in our Mid-Market and Enterprise segments
- You’ll help us refine our outbound motion, bring regional insight to our sales strategy, and create a scalable structure for future BDR hires
- Drive top-of-funnel pipeline: Identify, map, and engage high-quality prospects in whitespace accounts using a multi-channel approach (email, LinkedIn, calls, video)
- Own your territory: Work side-by-side with Mid-Market or Enterprise AEs to build strategic account plans, research buyer personas, and coordinate outreach efforts
- Craft high-quality outreach: Personalize messaging by persona, industry, and trigger event to drive engagement while protecting Ashby’s brand reputation
- Contribute to playbooks: Test new prospecting plays (e.g. event-based outreach, intent-driven cadences) and feed learnings back to the team
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Marketing to ensure campaign alignment and feedback loops. Participate in weekly syncs with Sales and monthly pipeline reviews
- Track and optimize: Maintain clean CRM hygiene, track activity and outcomes, and iterate on what works to hit KPIs

Ashby's co-founder and CEO, Benji Encz, experienced first-hand how existing solutions failed to support hyper-growth hiring needs whilst working at PlanGrid, which is in part what led to the creation of the company.
Ashby is looking to redefine the ATS category - providing talent teams with analytics, workflows and automation - and intends to replace solutions from well-established vendors like Greenhouse and Lever with algorithms. The company's AI can schedule interviews and infer demographic data, which clients use for aggregate analyses of DEI hiring metrics.
The market for recruitment software could potentially reach $3.5 billion by 2030. Unsurprisingly, there is now a growing number of startups emerging to compete for a slice of it. Despite the crowded market and having only emerged from stealth in 2022, Ashby has already secured over 500 clients (including high-profile customers like Notion and Figma). The company has also attracted impressive funding, which will be used to expand its product offering beyond what is typically expected from an ATS and grow its customer success and community initiatives.
