Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience in building automations for testing and deployments
- You are comfortable with GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- You can find your way around in Python
- You have experience in deploying different workloads in Kubernetes
- Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform is a plus
What the job involves
- As a CI/CD Engineer in our Build & Deploy crew, you'll be the one making sure our code gets out the door to production 10+ times a day, to millions of students
- Picture this: you’re sorting out a deployment glitch on GitHub Actions one minute, speeding up a sluggish pipeline the next, and chatting with the team about keeping our staging setups quick and cheap
- It’s all about cutting the hassle for developers, keeping our releases smooth, and helping us grow fast without breaking too much sweat ;)
- Making life easier in our developer environment, getting stuff from code to production
- Setting up and tweaking CI/CD pipelines so we can build, test, and ship code
- Keeping an eye on deployments and jumping in when things go sideways
- Helping developers get their features live
- Keeping our staging environments fast, steady, and wallet-friendly
- Right off the bat, you’ll help call the shots on team plans and how we roll
- You’ll be pushing features live for millions of students, 10+ times a day—real impact, fast
- No two days are the same—pipelines, deploys, environments, you name it
- You will have the chance to work with new tools and technologies
Our take
High quality notes and resources are necessary at every level of education, but at times personal notes can be incomplete or missing details. The founders of Studocu have created a platform that allows students to share notes, resources and study materials, that now holds materials from universities across the world.
With millions of users every month accessing the platform, there is undeniable demand for Studocu's services. Much of the company's popularity may be ascribed to its freemium model, which keeps 85% of its content free to access. The other 15% can be accessed by students who either upload their own study materials or pay a fee.
Studocu has seen impressive investment which has enabled it to expand substantially. It also acquired Studybees, its German counterpart, to support this expansion. In 2024, Erasmus University Rotterdam filed a lawsuit against the company which will be interesting to follow, as it surrounds whether Studocu should have to proactively screen materials for copyright breaches, rather than its current report/takedown approach.
