Role
Who you are
- Payments, digital banking or financial services industry experience
- Experience working in a technical client-facing role preferred. Operating within the commercial teams but having the technical know-how to assist in pre-sales & post-sales with a solution-based approach to integrations, troubleshooting, add-on features, etc
- Familiar with API based integration methods, associated best practices, and related tools/frameworks
- Experience with at least one common front-end (pure JavaScript, React, Angular, etc) and back-end (Java, .NET, Python, Node, etc) technology
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal in English
- Confident communicating with C-level executives
- Organised and able to prioritise shifting workloads and responsibilities effectively
- Ability to travel 10-15% of the time for client and team onsite meetings
What the job involves
- As a Sales Engineer, you are responsible for technical ownership of client relationships from initial contact in the sales cycle throughout the solution process, integration, and go-live stages of the customer journey
- The ability to solve business and technical requirements through the application of Checkout.com products and solutions is core to the success of the position
- Along the way, you'll collaborate closely with various in-house talents across Technology and Business to position our capabilities, products, services and solutions effectively with prospects
- Gathering and documenting merchants’ requirements through the sales process
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to Checkout's merchants
- Project managing large merchants’ accounts
- Being constantly up to date with industry standards in order to offer the best bespoke solutions to our merchants
- Working cross-functionally with internal teams (sales, implementation, engineering, product, etc)
- Sales enablement and RfP support
- Talking to and building a relationship with merchants
- Being a trusted advisor for merchants
