Just in 2021 alone, over 7.5 million cars were lost in production, costing the auto industry over $210 billion in revenue due to chip shortages.
By focusing more narrowly on supply-chain management for electronics manufacturers, Breadboard has been able to deliver an RFQ process automation tool that actually works. The next step for Breadboard is to build out its engineering team to execute its aim to deliver the operating system for the electronics supply chain.
Perhaps the biggest risk for Breadboard at this stage is making the right technical bets. The hope is that it can scale its product in a modular fashion that will easily integrate into the systems of all of the many different stakeholders in the supply chain - no easy feat!
