Who you are

Experience: 3–7 years in solutions engineering, presales engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or similar technical customer-facing roles
Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages
Experience building prototypes, APIs, integrations, or LLM-based solutions

As this is a unique role that allows for direct collaboration with our top clients, we have strict in-office and travel requirements. Candidates should apply if they are willing to be based out of NY or SF, while traveling to client locations 25-50% of the time

What the job involves

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll be the technical arm of our most strategic partnerships—rapidly building bespoke solutions that drive customer value, unblock deployments, and ultimately shape our core product
You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, product, and GTM—embedding deeply with customers to understand their needs and shipping solutions that make our software indispensable
This is not a roadmap-bound role. You’ll move fast, own messy business problems, and deliver value in days—not quarters
Collaborate with enterprise clients to build custom integrations and solutions tailored to their workflows
Scope, design, debug, deploy, and iterate on high-impact prototypes and integrations
Lead technical conversations—translating business need into architecture, scoping use cases, and defining deployment patterns
Address security and compliance questions, escalating complex issues when needed
Maintain and enrich documentation: guides, FAQs, internal tools, and best practices
Capture and advocate for customer feedback—feeding it directly into product planning and GTM strategy

Our take

The mortgage servicing market is huge but surprisingly outdated. In the US alone, it covers roughly $13T in mortgages, yet many servicers still use legacy systems and manual processes to manage payments, compliance and customer support. Because mortgage servicing involves complex regulations and many exceptions, these older systems can be inefficient and costly to run, creating a strong opportunity for modern technology to improve how the industry operates.

Valon is trying to modernize this space with ValonOS, an AI-native operating system built specifically for mortgage servicing. The platform doesn't just store loan data, it also captures the rules and workflows behind servicing decisions. This allows companies to automate routine processes, improve visibility into operations, and manage compliance more easily. To prove the system works, Valon has also built and run its own large mortgage servicing business on the platform.

The company has gained strong backing from major industry players too. Investor Rithm Capital Corp. plans to roll out Valon's technology to over 4M homeowners through Newrez, one of the largest US mortgage servicers. If this rollout succeed, it could demonstrate that modern, AI-driven systems can operate at industry scale and potentially reshape mortgage servicing.
