Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of leadership experience
- Facility Start-Up experience
- Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, General Management or a related field, preferred
- Demonstrated track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma
What the job involves
- Shift: Monday - Friday, day shift, with flexibility to work weekend and night shifts as needed
- You will be responsible for managing staff, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring customer satisfaction and proper departmental operation
- You will have a hands-on approach and be committed to the expansion & success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable the company to hit revenue goals
- This role reports to the General, Fulfillment Operations who also serves as the backup for this role
- Direct several operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, and recruiting
- Ensure that we meet and exceed our merchant’s expectations
- Manage performance KPIs, identify and track key metrics and plan continuous improvement efforts for your facility
- Use data driven reports and analyses to identify avenues for continuous improvement and propose solutions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities
- Hire, train, coach and motivate team members in your facility; you will be responsible for setting the team’s goals and managing them
- Establish, follow and enforce safety standards and procedures in compliance with a healthy work environment and legal requirements
- Share knowledge with other locations and headquarters on effective practices, competitive intelligence, business opportunities and needs
- Accountable for ensuring that all operational processes, including receiving, storage, handling, and shipping, maintain the safety, quality, and legality of products. Supports adherence to standard operating procedures and ensures timely escalation of any product-related issues

Our take
Global logistics company ShipBob fulfills orders and runs two-day shipping and logistics for thousands of direct-to-consumer eCommerce brands in the US. It was created to provide optimized fulfillment for merchants to free up their time to focus on growing their businesses and providing exceptional customer service.
From the start, ShipBob has concentrated on creating a tight product-market fit, and has expanded from there to develop into a franchise model that has helped manage processes at larger scale. This kind of astute and adaptive strategy no doubt contributed to the company landing substantial investment, and enabled it to capitalize on the general lift eCommerce companies received over the pandemic.
With this strong but slow-burn growth, the company can more easily leverage benefits they offer over competitors like Amazon’s FBA service - namely fewer inventory restrictions, lower fees, and packaging without Amazon branding. As the eCommerce boom settles, the company's pace has slowed down, but the general, continued uptick in eCommerce should see it to future success nonetheless.
