- Familiarity with general ledger systems and accounting software; experience with Exact Online is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Basic understanding of Dutch GAAP and financial compliance requirements
- Fluent in English, with Dutch language skills being a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
What the job involves
- As an Accounting Clerk, your mission is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting the accounting team in maintaining efficient and compliant processes
- Through attention to detail, proactive collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will play a key role in the smooth functioning of the organization’s financial operations, contributing to its overall success and growth
- Assist in the processing of day-to-day accounting transactions, including data entry, invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Perform basic reconciliations, such as bank statement and credit card reconciliations
- Support monthly closing processes by preparing journal entries and maintaining organized records
- Maintain and update financial records in accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Collaborate with the team to ensure proper documentation of invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions
- Assist in the preparation of reports and summaries for internal use
- Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems for accounting documentation
- Provide support during audits by retrieving records and responding to inquiries
- Contribute to identifying areas for process improvement and implementing solutions within the department
- Handle administrative tasks such as processing reimbursements, preparing payment schedules, and tracking petty cash
- Perform ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as needed
