Our take

The airline industry is becoming increasingly competitive, leading to cheaper flights, which results in airlines relying on ancillary purchases to boost revenue. Whilst airlines provide such upsells to direct customers, online travel agencies typically do not have access to them, resulting in missed sale opportunities for both parties.

Gordian Software develops APIs for the airline industry, providing a simple way for airlines to offer flights, seat choices, baggage upgrades, priority boarding, and other travel add-ons. The software platform is easy to integrate within existing travel infrastructures, offers flexible pricing and feature choice, and provides returns to clients immediately without setup costs.

Whilst airlines can already provide agencies with travel add-ons through bespoke sales and integration, Gordian Software has recognized that this can be slow and expensive for both agencies and airlines. In providing an easier, faster, and cheaper API alternative, the company claims it can help boost revenue sales for airlines and agencies whilst improving customer satisfaction.
