Role
Who you are
- A degree in Computer Science or related fields
- 3+ years of Python programming experience with strong software architecture skills and SDK experience
- A passion for building reliable, well-documented systems that scale effectively
- Familiarity with Open Source development
- You thrive most during the initial years of a company's inception, particularly relishing the dynamics of small team environments
- Customer-centricity is paramount. Engineers are integral to every stage of the delivery process, necessitating a strong product focus. We value individuals who are passionate about their craft and are equally invested in addressing product and technical challenges
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams, clients, and community contributors
- Strong willingness to learn and experiment with Elixir
- A keen interest in Machine Learning
What the job involves
- We work with billions of training data images to leverage some of the world's most complex and general purpose AI models. Our back-end development is world-class and not short of challenges
- Team’s mission: Design, build and orchestrate backend services that enable our customers to train and leverage AI models in an elegant and performant way
- Develop, deploy, and maintain Python-based SDKs focused on RESTful APIs, data ingestion and integration with third party systems
- Maintain open source projects, contributing to design, implementation and engaging documentation
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of open-source projects
- Build and maintain scalable and robust solutions for medical data processing (e.g., DICOM, NIFTI)
- Collaborate with data scientists to integrate ML models into production environments
- Monitor deployed systems to ensure stability and performance, proactively addressing issues (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry)
- Proven ability to profile and optimize Python code for CPU, memory, and I/O efficiency

Our take
AI is currently utilised across multiple industries, requiring companies to continuously collect, organise, and label image data so that AI models can adapt to new scenarios. However, the responses they get from AI can easily fall into the simple back-and-forth of chatbots. V7 is changing this through developing AI agents that simulate how humans reason through problems, reducing errors, increasing reliability, and linking the outcome back to its original data source. All of this amounts to vision-based AI models that learn continuously and with minimal human supervision.
V7's Go platform can ingest documents, images and text and boil them down to AI-solvable steps. Alongside automating mundane tasks, the Go platform has a user interface that supports customised workflows - all with no code required. The company says that using only 100 human-annotated examples in its toolkit, it can label the rest of the training data autonomously. Although it found its first customers in medicine and health sciences, its product is being picked up by everyone from tech companies to asset managers and law firms.
