Role
Who you are
- This role requires consistent availability during Eastern Time business hours, regardless of where you’re based
- You care deeply about developing people, but you don’t avoid difficult conversations. You know when someone needs clearer expectations, better training, more practice, or firmer accountability
- You combine empathy with high standards and use both performance data and firsthand observation to make your coaching specific, practical, and effective
- 2+ years leading sales teams, backed by 4+ years carrying a quota yourself
- A track record of improving representative performance through specific coaching, honest feedback, and clear accountability
- Strong command of full-cycle sales, including pipeline management, conversion, forecasting, and closing
- The judgment to diagnose why someone is struggling - and the leadership skills to help them improve
- A data-driven operating style paired with strong interpersonal instincts
- Confidence working in Salesforce and adapting to new sales tools and processes
- Experience in healthcare, staffing, marketplaces, or another complex sales environment is a strong advantage
What the job involves
- Reports to Director, SMB Sales
- We’re looking for a Sales Manager to lead and develop our East Coast team of full-cycle Account Executives
- You’ll create the coaching, accountability, and operating discipline that turn talented sellers into a consistently high-performing team
- This is not a manage-from-the-dashboard role. You’ll listen to calls, identify performance gaps, deliver direct feedback, and help representatives improve - while maintaining a high bar for results
- As Medely grows, we need sales leadership that can make performance more consistent, forecasts more dependable, and coaching more effective
- You’ll have meaningful ownership of your team’s success, along with mentorship from our Senior Director of Sales. Exceptional performance can lead to significant compensation and broader leadership opportunities
- Lead, coach, and develop Account Executives who manage the sales process from first contact through close
- Improve performance through call reviews, weekly one-on-ones, and structured quarterly reviews
- Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable in a supportive, motivating way
- Build trusted relationships with direct reports, cross-functional partners, and company leaders
- Onboard new hires and train the team on new tools, processes, technologies, and sales practices
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and activity reporting
- Develop expert knowledge of Medely’s products, customers, competitors, and the healthcare staffing market
- Identify gaps in the sales process and recommend tools, materials, or improvements that help the team close business
Our take
Medely provides health professionals with an online portal for finding work. Nurses and allied healthcare providers can utilise the platform to secure a job when it suits them and at their preferred rates. Healthcare centres use the system to find suitable employees, manage their workforce, and track billable hours.
There is a worldwide nursing shortage, with burnout common among healthcare professionals, leaving many healthcare employers to increasingly rely on data-driven recruitment tools such as Medely. By offering greater flexibility and bringing casual work to healthcare, the company aims to reduce shortages and increase industry retention - even giving workers who previously left the sector a way back in.
Medely has secured a good stance in the field of the nursing gig economy, with several thousand hospitals and outpatient facilities using the company for their staffing needs. That said, with a collection of competitors such as IntelyCare, CareRev, and Nomad - all of which also offer marketplaces for healthcare workers - Medely must work hard to continue growing its presence.
