Proven success leading more than one team or squad in fast-paced, cross-functional environments

10+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years in engineering leadership (managing engineering managers/leads or multiple squads)
Solid technical background in modern web or backend technologies (our engineers use .NET/C#, React/TypeScript, Python, Swift, Kotlin, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes and many other tools and frameworks)
Experience with cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, DevOps, and observability
Fluency in English (C1+)

What the job involves

We are looking for experienced engineering leaders with strong business acumen to lead one of Finom’s cross-functional Product Engineering Domains. Each Domain Lead owns a large product area bringing together multiple squads and disciplines under one shared vision. This role is pivotal in scaling Finom’s engineering organization
You’ll balance technical depth, organizational leadership and product partnership to drive meaningful business outcomes
Own the engineering strategy and execution for your domain — typically 2–4 squads (20–30 engineers)
Partner closely with your product team and other domain leads to define the domain roadmap, balancing business goals with technical excellence
Provide architectural oversight across systems and integrations, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
Drive technical initiatives and make informed build vs. buy and tech debt decisions
Raise and maintain the engineering quality bar, while being able to dive deep in key technical challenges when necessary
Lead, coach, and develop engineering managers and key ICs within your domain
Build high-performing, engaged teams through effective hiring, feedback and development
Partner with Talent Acquisition on domain-level hiring strategy and workforce planning
Foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and collaboration aligned with Finom’s engineering values
Manage performance reviews, compensation recommendations, and internal mobility
Ensure predictable delivery by defining efficient processes for planning, estimation and execution
Partner with Product, Design, and Data to translate ideas into measurable delivery milestones
Maintain a healthy balance between feature velocity and technical excellence
Track and communicate progress transparently, ensuring stakeholders are aligned
Understand your domain’s contribution to Finom’s strategic goals and financial outcomes
Anticipate scaling needs, operational risks, and technical dependencies
Champion a product-engineering mindset — connecting customer problems, business impact, and technology
