What the job involves
- We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend-Leaning Fullstack) to be a technical driver for our customer-facing experiences and internal tools
- This is a very hands-on role focused primarily on React for web, with opportunities to contribute across our backend and product stack as needed
- You’ll take the lead on building polished, performant, and intuitive web interfaces while collaborating closely with design, product, and engineering leadership to ship high-quality features, fast
- This isn’t your first time shipping production-ready products - you have strong opinions about architecture and design patterns, and you know how to deliver robust, scalable, and delightful user experiences
- Own the development and delivery of key frontend features and pages using React (and modern JS/TS frameworks)
- Collaborate with designers to bring elegant, user-friendly interfaces to life and maintain a high UX bar
- Contribute to our backend and APIs when needed - especially when building end-to-end product features
- Help shape the direction of our frontend architecture, development patterns, and best practices
- Drive key projects such as:
- Building and launching core pages of our customer-facing web app as part of a 0→1 product experience
- Redesigning our internal developer portal to support AI-powered RAG workflows and new data integrations
- Improving shared component libraries and internal tools to boost developer productivity
Our take
Tavus is an AI video cloning tool that uses synthetic media, more popularly known as ‘deepfakes’, for companies to produce customizable and scalable content. The platform enables businesses to create videos for marketing, outreach, sales, recruiting and more while tailoring them to specific individuals.
Other players in the field include Loom and Vidyard, both of which have proven the value of personalised videos for businesses, but whose services take time. Tavus is scalable as its platform can generate thousands of personalised videos in the time it would take to record just one. The videos generated currently come with imperfections, notably the lip-syncing and video-cloning, which Tavus tenuously claims create more engaging content.
Synthetic media was called upon heavily during the pandemic, as companies created AI-copilots that could host conferences and pitches remotely, so it will be interesting to see how this industry continues to grow as time goes on. Tavus is young, but is expanding quickly with new products like its Phoenix-3 and Raven-0 models, having been backed by Sequoia and Y Combinator, amongst other top firms. Off the back of 2024 Series A funding, it has the means to accelerate development and growth.
