Who you are
- 2+ years debugging, networking, cloud tooling and system administration experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes, API gateways, Istio, and cloud-native applications
- Familiarity with technologies like Envoy and GraphQL is a plus
- Working knowledge of Go, Java, Node.js or related, modern programming language
- Strong ability to dig into code to troubleshoot
- Ability to manage stressful situations with calm professionalism, empathy, and compassion
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be self motivated and have the ability to work well remotely
What the job involves
- The Senior Customer Success Engineer helps companies learn, adopt, and scale their applications with the Solo.io product portfolio by developing successful partnerships with customers and ensuring they realize the desired value from our products. Works with the customer throughout the customer lifecycle with responsibility for customer advocacy, onboarding, adoption, retention and growth
- Provide daily guidance to existing customers, proactively monitoring and responding to customer inquiries and issues on a regular basis
- Develop strong relationships with customers, sales, engineering and product teams
- Proactively guide customers through their architectural and product setup and decisions
- Troubleshoot and solve complex situations collaborating with Developers and Field Engineers
- Contribute to Solo.io projects by submitting issues, pull requests, and documentation
- Stay current with fast-moving additions to Solo.io products and related technologies to retain domain expertise and credibility
- Manage stressful situations with calm professionalism, empathy, and compassion to develop good working relationships with clients, sales, engineering, and product teams
- Actively engage with the Solo.io community and related open source projects to foster adoption and grow external contributions

Solo.io provides connectivity between microservices in the cloud through its API gateways and service mesh.
