- 12+ years of experience in an HR or People Partner role, with a strong focus on strategic people leadership and organizational development

What the job involves
- Skylo is hiring a Principal People & Culture Partner to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. This individual will be a key strategic partner to our Chief Technology Officer and the broader Engineering & Operations teams, which are expected to more than double in the next 18-24 months.
- You will be instrumental in building and scaling this critical organization, focusing on strategic organizational design, talent management, and manager coaching and growth. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that requires a systemic and detail-oriented approach to support the rapid growth of a deeply technical team
- Act as the primary people partner for the Chief Technology Officer, providing strategic guidance and support to build a world-class engineering organization
- Partner with engineering leadership on organizational design, talent planning, and scaling the team effectively to meet business goals
- Coach and mentor leaders at all levels to enhance their leadership and management capabilities, foster a positive culture, and drive team performance
- Serve as the key liaison between the engineering organization and the broader People & Talent team, ensuring cohesive and consistent implementation of company-wide people programs related to performance management, compensation, and career development
- Support and manage local people operations issues while collaborating with centralized teams in Finland and India on programmatic elements
- Maintain a systematic and detail-oriented approach to all people-related initiatives, ensuring accountability and consistent execution across the organization
- Travel internationally up to two times per year to support global teams and initiatives
Our take
Skylo connects Internet of Things (IoT) devices to satellite networks using the cellular-based Narrowband IoT protocol. It is considered one of the world’s most affordable and ubiquitous networks that connects any machine or sensor.
The company stands out for being the first to leverage the aforementioned protocol, which allows its customers to instantaneously connect billions of devices in remote areas, without having to wait for any new satellites to launch. Having tested its technology with government and enterprise clients, the company then invested funding into scaling service in emerging markets, starting with India and Southeast Asia.
More recently, Skylo has focussed on forming partnerships, such as with IoT firm FocusPoint and telecommunications equipment company Anritsu Corporation, through which it has helped delivered IoT monitoring and emergency escalation services and enhanced Non-Terrestrial Network device testing. It has also launched SMS texting capabilities on its live satellite network, with plans to roll out two-way voice calls and images in the near future.
