Role
Who you are
- 3–5+ years of experience in strategy, analytics, or product/data roles within high-growth, data-driven environments
- Professional experience with SQL is essential; Python experience is a strong plus
- Strong track record of using data to solve complex problems and drive commercial outcomes
- Background in industries with large data throughput (e.g. fintech, consumer tech, lending, e-commerce)
- Experience with modern analytics stacks (data warehouses, dashboards, monitoring systems)
- Excellent communicator – able to clearly articulate how insights from data translate into commercial decisions and trade-offs
- Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to solving problems
What the job involves
- As Raylo continues to scale, we’re building out a high-performing Credit and Fraud Strategy team, and this new Strategy Manager role is key to unlocking our next phase of growth
- You’ll focus on optimising our approval rates across consumer and business products, with a direct commercial impact
- This is a unique opportunity to shape and optimise a newly implemented decisioning platform during a high-growth phase
- You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources, enhance decisioning logic, and develop scalable solutions that balance complexity, speed, and risk
- Your work will be instrumental in designing sustainable growth strategies, delivering on business goals, and influencing decisions at the highest levels of the company
- As we grow, so will you. This role offers both ownership and the chance to progress into senior strategic roles, helping to define how Raylo uses data-driven decisions to lead the market
- Lead strategic projects to optimise approval rates, leveraging our new decisioning platform
- Design scalable data frameworks and tracking systems to support smarter decisions
- Use SQL and analytics to investigate key drivers of performance and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering on technical design and implementation of new decisioning logic and data integrations
- Partner with Operations to understand day-to-day impact, close feedback loops, and ensure system robustness
- Align closely with Growth and Marketing teams on acquisition strategies and performance optimisation
- Liaise with Risk stakeholders to maintain strong controls and ensure sound, explainable decisions
- Drive innovation in automation, monitoring, and performance tuning of our decisioning systems
- Balance flexibility and scalability while maintaining high data quality across multiple sources

Our take
As a society, a disposable phone culture has developed which is both expensive and harmful to the environment, but Raylo is offering a more sustainable alternative. Through its platform, consumers can lease new and refurbished devices like phones and laptops, paying a monthly fee for the length of the contract.
Raylo sets itself apart through low monthly charges. This is significant as, despite consumers’ increasing reliance on electronic devices, research from Ofcom indicated many consumers struggle with the affordability of mobile phones. The circularity which Raylo's premise is built on is also essential, to reduce the overproduction of devices and the resulting waste as the world shifts towards more sustainable practices.
In 2022, Raylo cemented its status as an actor for good with its recognition as a B-Corporation. The company has also netted considerable funds, that will enable it to expand operations, with plans to grow its direct-to-consumer channel as well as checkout integration for merchants.
