Who you are
- Experience: 8+ years of product design experience, including 3–5 years in mobile design; expertise in user-centered design solutions demonstrated in a strong portfolio
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field
- Portfolio: Proven success launching software at scale, particularly in fast-paced, multi-market environments
- Domain Expertise: Background in monetization, subscription services, or e-commerce is highly desirable
- Data-Informed: Skilled at integrating research and data insights into design, particularly in experimental contexts
- Tools: Proficiency in Figma, including high-fidelity prototyping and component library use
What the job involves
- Hinge is seeking a seasoned Senior Product Designer to join our Growth team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of how people connect
- By designing thoughtful, delightful experiences, you’ll drive meaningful growth while empowering millions to find love
- Collaborate closely with researchers, data scientists, product managers, and engineers to craft a growth strategy that evolves our product and redefines the dating landscape
- This role will focus on Monetization, leading the design of premium offerings, including subscription and à la carte products.
- As a member of this high-priority, high-impact team, you’ll manage end-to-end design projects, align stakeholders on objectives, and contribute directly to the team’s success.
- Reporting to the Growth Design Manager, you’ll receive dedicated support to advance your work, strategy, and professional development
- This is a 6-month contract with the potential for converting to full-time
- Design for Impact: Craft features that balance user needs and business goals, driving value worth paying for
- Strategic Visioning: Define team strategy by facilitating workshops and translating insights into testable, actionable design hypotheses
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify design opportunities, prioritize projects, and align on goals
- Compelling Communication: Share ideas and design decisions effectively through high-fidelity prototypes, live presentations, and creative storytelling
- Exceptional Craftsmanship: Deliver polished work that upholds Hinge’s brand standards, from wireframes to visual comps and prototypes
- Iterative Design: Embrace a test-and-learn mindset, refining solutions based on research and user feedback

Hinge is a dating app that stands out by prioritizing meaningful relationships over casual hookups. Designed for people seeking long-term commitments, it moves away from the typical "swipe" approach popularized by apps like Tinder. Instead, Hinge emphasized detailed profiles and compatibility-based recommendations so used can make deeper, more genuine connections.
Back in 2019, half of single people in the US had never tried a dating app. Fast forward to today, and online dating is just part of the norm. Hinge has carved out its place in this market by focusing on long-term meaningful relationships, and is certainly meeting the growing demand for companionship while riding the wave of the online dating trend.
