Wealth Experience: Proven experience within the Wealth industry is essential, with strong commercial acumen and an understanding of market trends, competitors, and value levers

What the job involves

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join Aviva’s Wealth Finance Business Partnering team and play a pivotal role in driving growth and delivering business performance in our Direct Wealth business
As the Finance Business Partner, you will be at the forefront of decision-making within the Direct Wealth business
Your responsibilities will include assisting the business in delivering their commercial plans, analysing and advising on options to invest and grow profitably, and delivering high-quality management information
You will also work closely with the Wealthify finance team to ensure alignment of reporting, forecasting, and performance management
In this role, you will support the Direct Wealth business in delivering its commercial plans, providing valuable financial insights to drive informed decision-making and shape strategic priorities
You will play a key role in reviewing investment opportunities, undertaking ongoing planning and forecasting activities, engaging in performance management, and delivering accurate and timely management information
This role demands a proactive and inquisitive mindset to identify risks and opportunities, mitigate emerging issues, and help the business navigate challenges
As a trusted partner, you will communicate performance insights clearly and effectively to key stakeholders, acting as the financial voice of the business and contributing to its overall success
Beyond the numbers, you will engage with broader strategic objectives, challenging assumptions and supporting initiatives that drive long-term growth and profitability

With a history that dates back to the founding of Hand in Hand Fire & Life Insurance Society in 1696, Aviva’s current form is thanks to a merger between Norwich Union and CGU plc in the year 2000.

Over the noughties, Aviva grew its market out to Europe and established a high-profile foothold in America thanks to the most expensive advertising campaign of the time that included celebrities Alice Cooper and Bruce Willis. Into the 2010s, the insurance broker was forced to restructure and close a large number of its non-core businesses in a bid to increase its shareholder returns and streamline its focus. In 2012 it sold its US wing to Athene Holding to further this goal.

Now stripped back after sell-offs of subsidiaries in Indonesia, Italy, and many more countries, Aviva is refocusing on pensions. In the wake of a Pensions Dashboard Programme delay in the UK, Aviva is in the running to take over the programme thanks to its pre-existing private systems. This exemplifies Aviva’s renewed focus on the fintech sector, all whilst playing national analyst during the cost of living crisis thanks to its annual Age of Ambiguity study.
