Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience in brand, graphic, or visual product design
- A portfolio that highlights strong visual design skills across diverse projects, including case studies that showcase your design process and the measurable impact of your work
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
- Strong understanding of design systems
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS
- Animation and motion graphic skills are a strong advantage
What the job involves
- This is an exciting opportunity to lead the visual strategy of one of Canada’s fastest growing startups. With a large branding budget, new retail locations, and continuous new product launches, Clutch is looking to strengthen its visual identity while rapidly expanding through Canada
- Drive the visual strategy and execution of Clutch’s consumer-facing communications across all touchpoints. This includes creating cohesive and impactful visuals for product experiences, retail locations, and advertising campaigns spanning digital platforms, billboards, and television
- Uphold a high standard of visual design, ensuring every communication is thoughtful, clear, and visually delightful
- Partner with Brand, Product, and Marketing teams to develop Clutch’s visual identity, and craft visually engaging product campaigns to enhance Clutch’s presence across Canada
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to enhance visuals across Clutch’s product and ensuring consistency and cohesiveness all other communications
Our take
Buying used cars is notoriously something of a minefield - but used car sales platform Clutch is making big strides to sweep away the risk. The marketplace lists certified vehicles for users to shop, and have home delivered, along with a full carfax, insurance, warranty, and optional financing.
The used car sales market has been undergoing something of a digital overhaul in recent years, with a flurry of used car marketplaces cropping up to offer similar services. Canada, however, remains relatively non-competitive compared with the U.S. and Europe. This means Clutch has the luxury of importing a tried-and-tested model into a relatively spacious market.
Clutch will, however, have to face off with close competitor Canada Drives. The two companies enjoy comparable levels of funding and are currently the top competitors in Canada’s used car market. With this market hotting up significantly, Clutch will need to tread carefully to ensure they come out on top.
