Role
Who you are
- You are an experienced game developer who has ideally worked with live services
- You’re familiar with Unity and C#, but might have worked with other engines as well
- You enjoy diving into complex systems and writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code, and you have solid knowledge of common 3D engines and their underlying architecture
- You speak English at a professional level and are a good communicator
What the job involves
- As a Client Developer at Snowprint Studios you’ll work with competent industry experts on a prestigious, multiple finalist and award winning* team and strategy game, Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus
- You’ll be part of an agile, and experienced team creating top-quality free-to-play mobile games for millions of players
- You'll contribute to the design process, using your technical expertise and gaming experience to shape an engaging user experience while making impactful decisions that enhance gameplay
- You'll develop game architecture, implement and test features, and work across game logic, graphics, UI, and client-server communication. You'll optimize performance for mobile platforms and build tools to empower designers and artists
- You'll be expected to take ownership of the development processes and technical areas you work with
- You’ll collaborate with your colleagues and drive innovation to deliver exceptional gaming experiences, always with the player experience in mind
- Whatever you do during the day, player experience should be top of mind, making sure that we spend time doing the things that matter

Our take
Over the years mobile devices have become more and more powerful, and as a result people playing games on them have begun to expect more from what's on offer than the relatively simple titles of yesteryear. Recognising this change in the market, mobile gaming veterans from King, DICE and Rovio came together to form Snowprint Studios, a games developer aimed squarely at the growing "midcore" gamer demographic: players who game daily and expect a little more depth than casual clickers.
Snowprint has to date produced three major releases: Legend of Solgard, Rivengard and Warhammer 40,000 Tactitus (based on the popular Games Workshop franchise). These games have attracted uniformly high reviews for their tight gameplay and high production values, and the company has grown a playerbase of over 1.5 million gamers across its properties.
Developing within the Warhammer franchise was a smart move for Snowprint, as it taps into a playerbase that is comfortable with repeated microtransactions (in its original incarnation it was a rather expensive tabletop miniatures game where figures are bought individually or in small groups), and there are rumours of an Amazon series based on the property which will further bolster interest in Snowprint's offering. Snowprint accordingly is prioritising its marketing efforts and preparing for an influx of new players over 2023 and beyond.
