Who you are
- Strong Technical Background: At least 7+ years of relevant experience in an engineering role with at least 4+ of those years in a technical customer-facing role
- Built and deployed AI-powered solutions in real-world customer environments, leveraging experience with the latest LLMs to deliver practical applications
- Pre-sales Experience: Selling complex API-based products or SaaS products including technical discovery, presenting demos, etc
- Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure) in a SaaS environment

What the job involves
- The Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is a senior, client-facing technical expert who serves as a true strategic partner for our most complex and high-value accounts
- This is not a sprint; it's a marathon. This role is for the "marathon runner and a strategist" - an individual motivated by solving deep, intricate challenges and building unshakable, long-term relationships
- You will be the primary technical advocate for the client, often "embedded" within their environment to ensure they extract maximum value from the RapidSOS platform
- You are a patient, proactive, and consultative guide. You will help clients navigate their most ambitious technical "moonshot" projects, architecting and co-developing novel solutions that have never been built before
- Your success is measured not by tickets closed, but by the long-term success, adoption, and expansion of the client partnership you foster
- Act as the primary, embedded technical owner and trusted advisor for a portfolio of strategic clients, building deep, long-term relationships from the engineer level to the C-suite
- Develop unparalleled technical mastery of both the RapidSOS intelligent safety platform and your client's specific, complex technical ecosystem
- Lead complex diagnostic sessions, using elite listening skills to identify the root cause of technical challenges, not just the symptoms
- Architect, design, and co-develop novel solutions to solve unique client challenges, turning ambitious "moonshot" ideas into reality
- Move beyond reactive support by proactively analyzing client systems, anticipating future needs, and developing a strategic technical roadmap for long-term success
- Build and maintain deep trust through patience, empathy, and savvy political navigation of complex client organizations
- Identify and scope new expansion opportunities from your position of trust, demonstrating how RapidSOS can deliver further value to grow the account
- Serve as the client's technical advocate within RapidSOS, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and other internal teams to ensure their needs are met and their voice is heard

Our take
Emergency response services currently act exclusively on information provided by phone calls. Callers are usually vulnerable and panicked, and this has a negative effect on the expression of important information to phone call receivers. In addition, America's 9-1-1 system was built for landline phones, making it nearly impossible to digitally send data to first responders.
RapidSOS builds tools that provide caller data to emergency services to help them assess situations and make decisions faster. The startup utilizes data from mobile devices, smart devices and security systems to gain valuable insights into users' location, medical history and more. This helps produce a general profile on a caller ID, providing valuable contextual information in emergency situations.
The company continues to release new features and products, such as the first AI co-pilot for 911, and an intelligent safety platform for emergency responders. Having surpassed 1 billion emergencies supported, the company has raised a further round of funding to support continued scaling and the advancement of its tech.
