Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with an emphasis on manufacturing finance / cost accounting
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience using standard costing in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of NetSuite, or similar ERP system (SAP, Oracle). Experience with advanced Excel functions is essential
- Solid understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management System) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, eager to learn, and willing to rollup sleeves when necessary
- Ability to effectively communicate across different functions and levels of the Company
What the job involves
- The Manufacturing Finance Team is one of the most important, operationally complex finance groups at Anduril
- We are instrumental in defining sound business processes, partnering with Operations to understand manufacturing and inventory flow, tracking key operational metrics, and providing insights to assist in optimizing production
- As the Company continues to grow rapidly in size and complexity, we are looking to add a new team member to support this growth
- The position will have direct and frequent interaction with different functional teams, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Accounting
- Prepare and maintain cost accounting records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Analyze and manage costs associated with production (materials, labor, & overhead), inventory, and operating expenses
- Review work order variances, purchase price variances, and production volume variances to understand key drivers and impact on operating plan
- Support the evolution of the standard costing system to include the analysis and disposition of variances, costing of new products, and annual update of standard costs
- Monitor and reconcile inventory valuation and related costs
- Ensure inventory is properly valued on the balance sheet including the establishment of required reserves
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to drive efficiency within the organization
- Support the implementation of the future ERP system as needed with special focus on cost accounting, costing master data management, and related reporting
- Participate in the annual physical inventory by overseeing inventory counts, reviewing variances, and conducting audits as necessary
- Manage the inventory cycle count program, identify opportunities for improved inventory accuracy, and partner with operations to determine root cause of inventory discrepancies
- Interact with internal and external auditors, providing various analysis and audit schedules to ensure compliance with internal control procedures
Our take
Anduril makes hardware and software for defense agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Its hardware products include specialist drones with a long flight time and surveillance towers.
This hardware is tied together by proprietary software, the Lattice platform, which uses sensor fusion, machine learning, and mesh networking to integrate real-time data from Anduril hardware and third-party systems into a single, autonomous operating picture. While the hardware observes and detects, the software can make decisions as to the threat level of any anomalies, and so allow for observation and protection of an area or building with minimal manpower.
Anduril closed a Series E funding round in 2022 led by Valor Equity Partners. This funding was used for research and development of its autonomous defense products, such as the Roadrunner, a modular twin-jet powered autonomous vehicle that can take off and land vertically. Variants of the Roadrunner include defensive warhead armed interceptors which are the first drone weapons that can be retrieved after deployment. The company has also expanded to Australia where it is working in tandem with the Australian Defence Force to improve its military technology and infrastructure and is recruiting talent worldwide to support its rapidly growing portfolio of defense projects.
