DevSecOps Engineer, Neonomics

• You have solid experience operating Kubernetes in production and understand what it takes to run it reliably at scale
• You’re not afraid of programming in anything else other than shell scripts: robust automation is key, we use modern languages and frameworks to achieve it
• You strive to be declarative instead of imperative when it comes to infrastructure provisioning
• You know what it takes to operate code in production and understand the intricacies that come with running Java and Javascript workloads using modern observability tools
• You understand security concepts and know how to implement them on multiple layers
• You're a team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others grow, whether through pairing, code reviews, or documentation
• You actively seek feedback from your peers and seniors but don’t need handholding: we hate micromanaging, but we also expect you to deliver

Desirable

• Infrastructure provisioning: Use Terraform and adjacent tooling (like OPA policies, Atlantis etc.) to create that backbone of our infrastructure in GCP
• Automation Development: Use programming skills in Go, Python, or JavaScript to create robust automation solutions such as AdmissionControllers, GitHub bots, GitHub Actions actions to reduce the overall maintenance cost of the platform
• Golden Path Implementations: whether it’s dashboards, reusable workflows for github actions pipelines, terraform modules or devcontainers, we deliver quality of life features to engineers in a packaged and standardized format
• Security Best Practices: Stay up-to-date on security across the 4C layers—cloud, cluster, container, and code—and provide guidance to developers on implementing defense-in-depth strategies
• Observability Tools: Build and maintain an observability toolbox for developers, including:
• Log aggregation (OpenSearch),
• Metrics (Prometheus),
• Tracing (GCP-managed tracing service) and
• Alerting (Alertmanager, OpsGenie)
• We’ve recently implemented OTEL exporters therefore experience and understanding of its concepts is a plus

• Pre-screen interview with the hiring manager
• 90 minute technical interview with two of our senior engineers (no live coding, no algorithms or leetcode). We're interested in what you've done and how you arrived at your solutions, not how well you've memorized leetcode hard problems
• Call with HR to finalize the offer and details depending on where you want to live
