Who you are
- You know kubernetes very well and have used it in production at scale for multiple years
- You’re not afraid of programming in anything else other than shell scripts: robust automation is key and we use modern languages and frameworks to achieve it
- You strive to be declarative instead of imperative when it comes to infrastructure provisioning.
- You know what it takes to operate code in production and understand the intricacies that come with running Java and Javascript workloads using modern observability tools
- You understand security concepts and know how to implement them on multiple layers
- You make people around you better by providing guidance and enabling others around you to do their best work
- You actively seek feedback from your peers and seniors but don’t need handholding: we hate micromanaging, but we also expect you to deliver
What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced plarform engineer to manage and optimize our containerized workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and provision scalable cloud infrastructure and solve automation needs using robust programming languages.
- Infrastructure provisioning: Use Terraform and adjacent tooling (like OPA policies, Atlantis etc.) to create that backbone of the infrastructure
- Automation Development: Use programming skills in Go, Python, or JavaScript to create robust automation solutions such as AdmissionControllers, GitHub bots, GitHub Actions actions to reduce the overall maintenance cost of the platform
- Observability Tools: Build and maintain an observability toolbox for developers, including: Log aggregation (OpenSearch), Metrics (Prometheus), Tracing (GCP-managed tracing service) and Alerting (Alertmanager, OpsGenie). We’ve recently implemented OTEL exporters therefore experience and understanding of its concepts is a plus
- Golden Path Implementations: whether it’s dashboards, reusable workflows for github actions pipelines, terraform modules or devcontainers, we deliver quality of life features to engineers in a packaged and standardized format
- Security Best Practices: Stay up-to-date on security across the 4C layers—cloud, cluster, container, and code—and provide guidance to developers on implementing defense-in-depth strategies

Neonomics is here to power open banking. It does so by supplying solutions for personal finance, plus enabling finance businesses to provide these solutions to their customers. Its offerings include open banking payments, AI-powered finance planning, and an API which enables direct bank payments to be added into apps or websites.
The company has done well so far, and has secured custom from businesses including Worldline, Kivra and Link Mobility. Having expanded beyond its native Norway to serve the rest of the Nordics - as well as the UK and other European regions - Neonomics is already well on its way to achieving its goal of powering cutting-edge finance across Europe.
