Who you are
- The ideal candidate has an ambitious drive for the continuous improvement and evolution of Appspace’s product
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in frontend development using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or other relevant technologies like Backbone
- Frontend Architecture: Extensive knowledge of frontend architecture principles, including component-based design, state management, and performance optimization
- Testing Expertise: Hands-on experience with testing frameworks and methodologies (unit testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing)
- Accessibility (A11y): Strong understanding of accessibility standards and how to implement them in web applications
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address complex technical challenges
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Mentorship: A collaborative mindset with the ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor junior developers to improve their skills
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of adapting to new tools, technologies, and processes
What the job involves
- We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer who is eager to make a significant impact on people’s lives and will go the extra mile
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code
- Design and build reusable, adaptable UI components that can be seamlessly integrated across various applications
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to deliver the best possible UX for our customers, ensuring accessibility (A11y) standards are met
- Maintain, optimize, and evolve existing features to ensure high performance and scalability
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the overall growth of the engineering team
- Our Tech Stack is:
- Frontend Frameworks: React, Angular (legacy), TypeScript, Styled Components, SCSS, GraphQL, React Query, etc
- Build Tools: Webpack, Yarn Workspaces
- Testing: React Testing Library with Jest
- Design Tools: Figma, Storybook for our design system
- Project Management: JIRA
Our take
Founded back in 2002, Appspace has grown into something of a leader in the workplace experience field. What essentially started as an internal content management and digital signage toolkit has since expanded into an end-to-end workplace management platform that caters for both physical and digital co-working and communication.
The calibre of customers that Appspace serves says a lot about its status – Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Coca-Cola and Pfizer all use the platform. It’s to the company’s credit that it’s stayed abreast of changing needs in the workplace, and added to its product offering at opportune moments, either by developing its solutions or via strategic acquisitions.
Now that a blend of on-site, hybrid, and remote working is the norm, there’s a need for a single platform that ensures good employee (and customer) experiences, rather than companies using a host of distributed apps. It’s a need that Appspace is fulfilling well, as it continues to invest in product innovation.
