- 5+ years of experience in compensation management, sales operations, or a similar role, with a strong emphasis on detail-oriented work
- Proven ability to manage and analyze complex data with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Salesforce and commission management tools such as Quota Path
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines without compromising accuracy
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, HR, and business systems, to ensure seamless collaboration
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on presenting data and insights clearly and concisely
What the job involves
- We are looking for a dynamic professional to manage the operations of incentive compensation at Betterment, ensuring precision in commission calculations and empowering GTM teams with actionable insights
- This role is essential in driving sales performance by aligning incentives with company goals and ensuring seamless workflows
- While incentive compensation is the primary focus, this role will also support deal desk operations and partnerships reporting
- Perform accurate and timely monthly commission calculations for the sales team, ensuring all details are verified and reconciled
- Track and maintain incentive compensation reporting metrics with precision
- Support the rollout of updated targets on a quarterly basis
- Administer a commission tool to ensure that the sales team has full visibility of their attainment and earnings
- Conduct ad hoc analytics to provide actionable insights into incentive compensation performance
- Maintain documentation of the commission process, ensuring all steps are clearly recorded
- Monitor partner reporting with meticulous accuracy and communicate details to partners; approve monthly/quarterly payments promptly
- Review and approve routine “deal desk” requests
- Conduct monthly audits to ensure complete consistency between Statements of Work (SOWs) and opportunity records, addressing any discrepancies promptly

- In the interview process, we’ll look to learn more about your skills, experiences, capabilities, and motivators. Depending on the role, we may ask you to complete a case study exercise or technical assessments, as we want to collect a robust set of data points to better inform our decisions
- On average, it takes us around 3-5 weeks to make a hiring decision, depending on your availability and sense of urgency. As a best practice, we aim to interview at least 2-3 final round candidates before making a hiring decision. Please note that, as we usually receive an overwhelming number of applications for open positions, we’re unable to offer individual feedback during the interview process
