Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related technical field and 3+ years of experience in software development
- 2+ years of experience in project management
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex systems involving hardware and software interaction
- Experience with project management tools like Smartsheet, MS Project, or comparable
- Experience with the Atlassian tool suite

- 5+ years of project management experience
- Experience working with software teams that are developing in C, C++, Python, or other similar languages
- Experience guiding resolution of blockers or helping to find workarounds to critical issues
- Experience building schedules * Prior work on a launch vehicle or spacecraft

What the job involves
- The Terrestrial Software team is building the foundation for an automated rocket factory and integrated launch platform
- Their mission is to automate and streamline workflows across the entire lifecycle of Terran R, from raw material intake to launch operations and eventually manufacturing on Mars
- Today, that means partnering directly with teams across design, materials, manufacturing, and test and launch to design, implement, and deploy end user enterprise-wide applications, industrial automation, data analytics infrastructure, and next-generation AI to solve real problems and accelerate progress
- Long term, the team is laying the groundwork for a modular, scalable software platform that can power highly autonomous operations on Earth and beyond
- This is a team for builders and thinkers who thrive on cross-functional impact and want to shape the digital backbone of our future in space
- Project plans and milestone deliverables for Industrial Automation programs
- Coordinate with hardware and operations teams to understand needs and dependencies
- Review team and sprint metrics to highlight trends and growth opportunities
- Manage software schedules and how they interact with overall program needs
- Communicates successes, slips and challenges to our leadership team
Our take
Relativity Space has set out to build humanity’s multiplanetary future with its innovative 3D printed rockets. The company is at the forefront of software-defined manufacturing, combining 3D printing, AI, and autonomous robotics to create the “factory of the future.” By utilising 3D printing, Relativity has simplified its supply chain, building rockets in less than 60 days that require 100x fewer parts.
The company completed its flagship Terran 1 rocket and initial round of test flights in 2023. While the first launches technically failed, as the rocket failed to reach orbit, the attempt is still classified as a resounding success, as the rocket managed the highest stress state - Max-Q. The company is currently building its follow-up Terran R rocket, which is set for a debut launch in late 2026. While the company faces competition from SpaceX, Relativity Space’s cheaper and accelerated building process is well set to be a fierce competitor.
