Role
Who you are
- This is a unique and fast-paced role for a resourceful, driven individual looking for an exceptional sales opportunity with a global leader in the sustainability field
- Entry level sales role, 1-3 years of sales, account management, marketing or consulting experience preferred
- A drive to exceed sales targets and close deals
- Strategic and thoughtful approach to Business Development and client interactions
- Highly organised with CRM, emails and documents with the ability to manage your time effectively
- Excellent ability to create customised client-facing decks and presentations using PowerPoint and Google Slides
- Excellent writing and communication skills needed with keen attention to detail to be able to interact with mid to senior-level prospective clients
- Client-facing experience negotiating and closing business opportunities preferred
- A bachelor’s degree in any field of study is a plus
- French speaking is preferred but not required
What the job involves
- TerraCycle is looking for a talented candidate to join the Business Development team building new business partnerships and relationships in Europe and the UK
- Your aim will be to drive TerraCycle’s rapid growth by building a pipeline of new business and managing client relationships effectively with the goal of closing opportunities
- The Business Development Associate assists in the development of new contacts and leads, conducting outreach to initiate and maintain a dialogue around TerraCycle’s offerings with marketing, sustainability and facility stakeholders across a diversity of industries
- The position is based in London, where you will report to the Business Development lead for program partnerships in Europe and will closely collaborate with the entire Business Development Team as well as other teams in TerraCycle
- Identifying and securing new partnerships for TerraCycle through proactive outreach as well as managing ongoing prospect relationships primarily through email, video-calls and phone
- Support on building custom sales decks and presentations using PowerPoint/Google-slides
- Building industry ecosystems and adding to our outreach strategy and efforts
- Independently writing and sending personalized outreach messages in a creative way (primarily via LinkedIn and email)
- Carrying out continuous follow-up of prospective clients and managing the sales pipeline
- Effectively using the CRM to record notes and report on progress of deals in your pipeline
- Support on contract drafting and contract negotiations

Terracycle aims to eliminate the idea of waste, and become a global leader in recycling non-recyclable waste.
Terracycle believes the main cause of landfills is the expense associated with recycling. Thus, they are tackling this through their business model which offers free recycling programs, funded by conscientious manufacturers, brands, and retailers.
As well as making a real impact on the environment in processing "millions of kilos a month” of hard to recycle materials, TerraCycle is generating tens of millions of dollars in revenue. The sustainable waste management company is continuing to expand, with a focusing on developing new partnerships moving forward, such as those with coffee-pod company Tassimo and global personal care brand Paula’s Choice.
