Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in end-to-end HR operations and payroll, ideally in fast-paced tech environments
- At ease with a multi-country scope of responsibility
- At ease with numbers, statistics, excellent analytical skills, and, important for the role, detail-oriented!
- Probably not a surprise: A proven experience with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, Ifs at minimum, VBA is a plus)
- Willingness to learn, roll up your sleeves, raise your hand, help to deliver and strive for excellence
- Highly energized, can work independently and challenge self while also collaborate with others with good interpersonal skills
- A strong sense of confidentiality
- Knowledge of Papaya of HiBob systems is a plus
- Excellent communications and presentation skills in both French and English
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Payroll Partner (9 month FTC) with a strong agile and analytics mindset to support our People Experience Team!
- This position will play an instrumental role in guaranteeing our internal and external payroll processes and coordinate payroll operations services for our Barcelona, London, Paris and Swiss offices
- You’ll be the face of Proton People and Culture team for our Barcelona, London, Paris and Swiss offices! Managing the onboarding of our new team members, and providing HR operations, payroll and advisory service to our staff, ensuring they’re set up for success
- Work in collaboration with our global payroll vendor to ensure that our global teams and authorities are paid accurately and on time every month, minimizing “point of failure” risks
- Operate with a mindset of continuous performance improvement to streamline and automate operations and payroll processes as opportunities arise, building a vision for the future
- Maintain collaboration with our external HR providers (payroll, insurances etc.)
- Work alongside our other international colleagues in People Experience Team to ensure flawless HR execution of operational and administrative activities, such as international employment offers, update in our knowledge base, maintenance of data and process continuous improvement of our HRIS

Proton maintains its pro-privacy ethos using a Swiss VPN, protected by strict Swiss privacy laws. In essence, it has established a connection between the personal and the political, smartly utilising the country’s national laws to benefit people and organisations globally. Proton also funds charities and movements such as the World Wide Web Foundation and Netblocks, further cementing it as an influential NGO.
Perhaps Proton’s most important quality is its determination to maintain independence from advertisers and companies. Originally founded on donations, Proton has funded itself via grants rather than venture capital so that all of its customer's data is never at risk of being mined. One effect of this is that to keep up with the increasing competition in the data privacy sector, Proton has expanded its services to allow more cross-selling and simultaneously has more products to offer, such as drive and calendar privacy.
