Who you are
- You'll be an experienced consultative sales professional with a passion for building relationships, solving complex business challenges and winning transformational client partnerships
- In depth, demonstrable experience in business development, consultative sales or agency growth within digital marketing, media or integrated communications
- A proven track record of winning significant new business and leading complex competitive pitch processes
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify, shape and convert high-value opportunities
- Experience engaging senior marketing leaders and C-suite stakeholders with confidence and credibility
- Excellent presentation, storytelling and proposal-writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex solutions into compelling commercial narratives
- A collaborative leadership style, bringing together multidisciplinary teams around a shared commercial objective
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- A proactive, resilient and results-driven mindset with a genuine passion for growth
- Curiosity about emerging trends across media, marketing, technology and AI, with the ability to translate these into client value
What the job involves
- As New Business Director, EMEA, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating Croud's commercial growth across the region
- Reporting to the Head of New Business, you will own and lead strategic new business opportunities from qualification through to close, driving complex RFPs and competitive pitches while building long-term relationships with senior marketing decision-makers
- Working across Croud and Born Social, you'll collaborate with specialists across media, strategy, creative, analytics and marketing to develop compelling commercial propositions that differentiate our offering and deliver sustainable revenue growth
- This is a highly visible role with significant exposure to senior leadership, offering the opportunity to shape our go-to-market strategy, influence proposition development and contribute directly to the agency's commercial success
- Own strategic new business opportunities from qualified lead through to contract signature
- Develop and execute tailored business development strategies to generate sustainable pipeline growth across priority sectors
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, identifying commercial opportunities and positioning Croud as a long-term strategic partner
- Deliver against individual and team revenue targets while continually improving pipeline quality and conversion
- Lead the end-to-end RFP and pitch process for high-value opportunities
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to produce compelling, insight-led proposals and presentations
- Ensure every proposal clearly communicates Croud's strategic value, differentiated capabilities and commercial impact
- Lead negotiations and support contract completion where required
- Partner closely with Marketing, Channel Specialists and Agency Leadership to align sales activity with broader commercial objectives
- Identify emerging market trends, growth sectors and client challenges to shape business development priorities
- Use client feedback, competitive insights and sales objections to continuously strengthen our propositions and go-to-market approach
- Champion integrated opportunities across Croud and Born Social to maximise client value and commercial growth
- Develop relationships with senior marketers across prospective client organisations
- Build and manage relationships with key intermediaries, consultants and strategic partners
- Work with Marketing and PR teams to leverage thought leadership, case studies and client success stories to strengthen market positioning
- Represent Croud externally through networking, industry events and commercial conversations
- Maintain an accurate, high-quality sales pipeline and forecast
- Regularly report on pipeline health, opportunity progression, market trends and revenue performance to senior stakeholders
- Ensure all sales collateral remains current, compelling and aligned to Croud's positioning
- Support the Head of New Business with wider commercial initiatives and strategic projects
- Standard hours are from 9.00am to 5.30pm, there’s flexibility if agreed in advance with your line managers (it may also be necessary on occasions to work outside of these hours)
