What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to join our Business Development Team
- This role is primarily responsible for generating new business opportunities and driving revenue growth
- While the main focus will be on generating leads, you will also carry a small quota to close smaller deals
- We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of the healthcare space and wants to bring their talents into a “for purpose” space
- To work at Talkspace, you need to be as passionate as we are about our work and excited to partner with us on delivering quality mental healthcare
- Develop and implement comprehensive inbound and outbound strategies to generate a steady pipeline of qualified prospects
- Initiate and lead targeted outreach to prospective clients through personalized email campaigns, strategic phone calls, and effective social selling techniques
- Conduct in-depth research to identify and analyze the unique needs and challenges of prospective customers, ensuring tailored approach to engagement
- Facilitate and coordinate discovery meetings between sales representatives and prospects to foster relationships and uncover further opportunities
- Maintain accountability for closing smaller deals, while also driving lead generation efforts to support overall sales objectives
- Consistently surpass sales targets and quotas through proactive strategies and a focus on results-driven performance

Talkspace are a relatively seasoned player in the online therapy market, having been founded in 2012. The platform's unlimited, appointment-free digital therapy with any one of the company’s network of healthcare professionals offers a cost-effective solution to underserved customers in need of mental health services.
Venture capital interest in the digital behavioural health field has been on the rise for a while now, and has fuelled increasing startup competition in the industry. Talkspace has notable rivals in both BetterHelp and Calmerry, but its 2021 public exit and acquisition of relationship counselling startup Lasting have both helped to cement its role as a major tele-health player.
Talkspace continues to expand its product offerings, such as with the launch of Talkspace Engage - a portal for HR teams to promote mental wellbeing in the workplace and drive utilization of the company’s available mental health services. The company was also honored as the “Best Large Service” of Verywell Mind’s second annual 2022 Online Therapy Awards, and has built a clear path for itself to continue delivering front-of-the market services into the future.
