Who you are
- Experience as an Android Developer, with at least 4 years of experience developing Android applications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related professional experience
- Proficiency in programming languages like Kotlin and Java for Android app development
- Experience with Android application architecture patterns and design principles
- Experience with Android development tools, libraries, and third-party APIs
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and JIRA
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Solid debugging skills
- Experience mentoring junior developers
- Portfolio of published Android applications on the Google Play Store
What the job involves
- In Berlin we are looking for a Senior Android Developer within our Search & Finding Team!
- Reporting to our Engineering Team Lead you will follow the mission together with our team to create a holistic and seamless search experience for our users
- To achieve this we work in a cross-platform manner, improving the search experience on mobile.de, Android and Web applications
- Lead the development of Android applications using Kotlin or Java, following best practices and coding standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Junior Android developers, promoting a culture of learning and growth within the team
- Collaborate with the product management and UX/UI design teams to create scalable application architectures. Ensure the design aligns with our technical vision and strategies
- Conduct through code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards. Implement unit tests and automated testing strategies to verify the correctness and reliability of the applications
- You identify and address performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and other issues to enhance the performance of the Android applications
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, Android platform updates, and latest technologies. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the development process and application performance
- Collaborate with teams, including backend developers, designers, and product managers, to define project requirements, milestones, and timelines
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues reported by users and team members. Provide solutions to ensure application stability and user satisfaction
- Security and Compliance: Follow security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations throughout the development process
- Documentation: Create technical documentation related to the Android applications, including architecture, API integration, and code documentation
