- 0-2 years of work experience in a business development, lead generation, client outreach, or similar customer-facing role
- A results-driven mindset with the resilience and determination to consistently identify and qualify new opportunities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and articulate value clearly and concisely
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a genuine passion for identifying and creating new business opportunities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for effective lead management
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools to manage leads and track interactions is a plus, but not essential – we'll provide training!
What the job involves
- As a Business Development Specialist at Checkatrade, you'll be on the front lines of our growth efforts, focusing on identifying and creating new opportunities
- This isn't a closing role; instead, you'll be the engine that fuels our pipeline by proactively sourcing leads, engaging with potential customers, and generating interest in Checkatrade's offerings
- Identifying and researching potential leads through various channels, understanding their needs, and assessing their fit for Checkatrade
- Initiating engaging conversations with prospects through calls, emails, and other outreach methods to qualify their interest and pain points
- Articulating Checkatrade's value proposition clearly and persuasively, sparking curiosity and building rapport
- Nurturing leads through the initial stages of the client journey, ensuring a smooth handoff to our account management team for deeper engagement
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and lead information within Salesforce
- Collaborating closely with our account management team and other internal teams to share insights, refine outreach strategies, and maximize lead conversion
