Role
Who you are
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 5+ years’ experience in full life cycle technical recruiting
- Experience recruiting for engineering roles (hardware or software)
- Demonstrated ability to identify, source, and hire exceptional engineering talent
- Ability to build strong relationships with both managers and candidates
- Knowledge of various recruiting tools such as applicant tracking systems, social media platforms, Boolean searches etc
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment classifications
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
- 8+ years' of demonstrated experience recruiting in aerospace, or software engineering related field
- Knowledge of technical markets across the U.S
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience/knowledge of engineering skillsets in software; specifically for spacecraft, rockets or satellites
- Experience with high volume recruiting
What the job involves
- As a Senior Recruiter (Software Engineering) at Impulse Space, you will collaborate closely with hiring managers to drive the full life-cycle recruiting process; sourcing, screening, interviewing, extending offers, and ensuring a positive candidate experience
- Operating across diverse roles within the Engineering and Operations teams, you will be a key player in our hiring strategy. We are seeking an individual who is not only highly engaged and takes pride in their work but also thrives in our startup environment. Independence and ownership are key facets of success in this role
- Manage full cycle recruiting for multiple, complex searches, creating innovative sourcing strategies and engagement to bring the best talent to each role
- Collaborate closely with hiring managers throughout the recruiting process to ensure we meet their hiring needs and goals
- Regularly manage pipeline activity and maintain data integrity, and proactively share data-centric updates with internal stakeholders
- Foster a collaborative team environment and a strong service-oriented culture, which ensures delivery of an efficient, effective, quality driven services to internal hiring teams
- Focus on process development & metrics/analytics - helping Impulse continually raise the recruiting bar

Our take
Impulse Space is developing a line of orbital transfer vehicles (OTVs) that enhance satellite manoeuvrability in space. The company offers products like Mira, for last-mile satellite deliveries and Helios, which can move spacecraft from low Earth orbit to geosynchronous orbit in under 24 hours.
Recognizing the strategic value of manoeuvrable spacecraft, the US Space Force awarded Impulse a $34.5M contract for two missions set for 2026.
