Role
Who you are
- You have at least 5 years of experience as a PHP backend software engineer
- You have some experience in web scraping or data engineering
- You have a solid experience with SQL, preferably MySQL or MariaDB
- Good knowledge of CLI / Shell scripting
- You had an impact on the conception and delivery of a product responding to customers' needs
- Flexible and customer-oriented, you enjoy problem-solving and decision-making based on data and impact measurement
- You have a good level of English
Desirable
- Experience with Elastic search
- Experience with Browser automation (puppeteer, playwright …)
- Strong web scraping experience
- You have experience with Observability tools like Datadog
- Experience with AI models (Computer vision, fine-tuned LLMs…)
What the job involves
- The Tech, Data, and Product team comprises 70+ people from diverse backgrounds, working in our offices in Nantes, Paris, and Barcelona. Our products are developed thanks to six autonomous product Teams, each working on a specific business domain
- The teams are led by a Product Manager and Engineer manager working with a dedicated small team of developers (from 4 to 8)
- We are organised in Product teams, focused on a domain of the global platform. As the lead for the Public Data Acquisition team, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution, driving the development and evolution of:
- The public data collection: all activities related to crawling, scraping, and preprocessing data from external e-commerce websites. It also includes handling anti-blocking mechanisms and ensuring data quality for ingestion
- The product matching: responsible for automatically matching customer products with data collected from e-commerce sites. It includes logic for suggesting matches and validation systems where customers confirm or decline matches
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality PHP applications and services
- Implement and advocate for clean architecture principles to ensure a scalable, maintainable, and testable codebase
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers to uphold best practices and coding standards
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability
- Working Hours: Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm, Friday from 9 am to 3 pm

Our take
Lengow was built to solve difficulties faced by e-merchants who had to undertake the tedious process of setting up and selling products on a variety of different marketplaces and online channels. Fast forward to today, and this problem is still relevant. With the rise of the digital world and the significant increase of online sellers, e-merchants still have to work through this long process, meaning that Lengow's offerings are still sought after.
Through its centralised platform, Lengow aims to automate as many steps in the process of listing products across different selling sites. The company does this through allowing product imports through a product management system to allow them to be posted on multiple channels instantly. Lengow also offers additional services including stock management, order tracking, and marketing strategies to optimise distributor and brand performance.
Lengow has attempted to keep up with tech developments, such as the launch of a decision-making operator that would release data and algorithms to businesses for advanced data analysis and recommendations. Marlin Equity Partners' acquisition of a majority stake in Lengow will see it invest its vast resources to bolster the development of the company, particularly in international expansion, and Lengow's acquisition of Netrivals in 2022 will allow it to deliver more value to its customers with new price intelligence offerings and a wider European footprint.
