Who you are
- We are looking for a colleague, who is passionate about podcasts and audio content, as well as understands the concepts of working in a startup environment to make it a fun ride
- Have meaningful experience and love working with Android (Kotlin)
- Have a good understanding of the Android lifecycle - Activities, Fragments, Services
- Would like to work in modern Android UI-based architecture using Jetpack Compose
- Understand the need and have experience in writing unit tests
- Understand the benefit of and have experience with feature toggles and A/B testing
- Can use English not only for coding but also for communication
- Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability over not only the Connections domain, but the product in general
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies and ways of working
- Think that with a team you walk further than alone and you have a general positive attitude
- Have a strong passion for mobile applications and mobile development
- Have an experience working with GraphQL (it's an additional plus)
What the job involves
- In this position, you will be a part of an ambitious cross-functional team of talented and highly experienced professionals. The squad is focused on creating and fostering connections between content creators and their audiences through communities – including commenting, reacting, polls, and engaging with one another on curated feeds
- Creating and improving features in the Connections domain
- Becoming an expert in community-related features such as comment sections, reactions and polls
- Taking initiative and participating in migration from React Native to fully native application development
- Participating in the design discussion with the rest of the cross-functional team (Product Managers, designers, other developers, and UX researchers) to improve and expand the community experience

Podcasting and audiobook listening has become and increasingly popular past-time for many. The flexibility of listening to podcasts while doing other activities simultaneously is driving the market growth. Podimo is a podcast and audiobook platform taking the Nordic Countries by storm with its service.
The company boasts its close connection with the creators it hosts on its platform, suggesting a healthy and appealing work relationship for creators to continue using Podimo as its host (an issue Spotify has had multiple times). The company's revenue-share model is not based on the size of following which gives the company a big boost up in the newer podcasters books.
Since its founding in 2019, Podimo has grown to 350+ employees across 20+ different countries and was named the fastest-growing podcast service in Finland. With Apple, Spotify, and Google, it’s easy to think smaller companies don’t have much chance, but Podimo is standing its ground in the Podcast sector and taking on big-name creators. We’re excited to see what recent funding and the acquisition of several companies will do for the company going forward.
