Who you are
- Expertise in React and NextJS is required; proficiency in a similar framework like Svelte is also valuable
- Your JavaScript, HTML and CSS skills should be exceptional, with a solid understanding of development and deployment tooling
- Experience in leading front-end projects and teams with a track record of successful software delivery
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a passion for innovation
- An eye for detail, good design and the desire and means to collaborate with the rest of the company to create great user experiences

What the job involves
- VouchedFor is on a mission to build trust in advice and help the adviser community deliver an even greater impact for millions of clients. We are already the UK’s leading platform for consumers to find trusted financial advisers, and our Elevation private feedback platform now helps hundreds of UK advice firms measure and improve their client experience
- As our Front End Tech Lead, you'll drive the development and strategic direction of our key UI applications, including our public review website, adviser portal and firm dashboards
- This role demands a proactive technical leader, ready to set a 1-3 year strategic plan focusing on enhancing code quality, implementing best practices, and re-assessing our Javascript tech stack. Your goal will be to elevate our platforms through innovative technology and leadership
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a forward-looking plan that includes the adoption of best practices in coding, architecture, and testing. Lead potential migrations and ensure technological advancements align with business goals
- Technical Ownership: Take full ownership of our UI applications, ensuring high performance, responsive design, and seamless user experience across all platforms
- Best Practices Implementation: Establish and enforce coding standards and architectural guidelines. Optimise development and deployment processes
- Team Collaboration&Mentoring: Work closely with new and existing team members to elevate their skills and understanding of Front-end technologies. Act as a mentor and technical leader

VouchedFor aims to help people find the best financial advisers, solicitors and accountants in their area. VouchedFor's review site allows professional advisers to increase their visibility in the local area, whilst clients can review the quality of their service and rate them, to improve transparency in the marketplace.
The vision of the company is to build a platform that becomes essential in choosing an adviser. VouchedFor differentiates itself by ensuring that all the advisers are vetted for qualifications and relevant authorisations by appropriate government bodies. Users can then leave reviews for the services provided by the advisers, and the company can verify the identity of all reviewers in order to ensure that the reviews are genuine.
Around 2 million consumers use VouchedFor each year. It makes money by charging advisers a subscription fee in order to access the community and to become verified, but it is free for customers to use. The biggest challenge the company faces is ensuring that the platform remains moderated and doesn't become subject to fake reviews, as has been faced on other review sites such as Trustpilot and Tripadvisor.
